Did you have a pregnancy pillow? Pros, cons, etc.? I've been sleeping fine so far, minus a bathroom break or two in the middle of the night. Just not sure our bed even has room for a pillow!

For me, it's a necessity. I tend to get into a deep sleep and automatically try to go to my back or stomach, so the pillow helps keep me on my side.

Loved it! It totally helped with getting comfortable as I got bigger.

I hated mine! It took up wayyyy too much room in the bed and I never actually needed it. I just heard so much hype about them and thought it would change my world. It didn't.

It was a necessity. I just got a body pillow and an extra large pillow, not a specialty pregnancy pillow persay.

I didn't use one for my first and ugh, I ended up having such a hard time organizing regular pillows and trying to get comfortable. This time, I got one at 6 weeks because I'm already having some aches and pains and it's been helping - wish I hadn't gone without last time.

I just used a regular body pillow, it worked fine for me and was like $10 at Target.

I hated mine with a passion. I wanted to like it and was really excited to get it, but immediately hated it. It was easy to get "tangled up" in and reminded me of wrestling an alligator every time I wanted to turn over!

I use both a Snoogle (http://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Snoogle-Total-Pillow-White/dp/B0000635WI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418665844&sr=8-1&keywords=snoogle&pebp=1418665848437) and a Boppy Prenatal Sleep Wedge (http://www.amazon.com/Boppy-5200100K-6PK-Prenatal-Sleep/dp/B00474CUTO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418665892&sr=8-1&keywords=boppy+maternity+wedge&pebp=1418665901410). If you have limited space in your bed, I love just the wedge. It isn't huge, but it's great to give support to your growing belly. The Snoogle is awesome if you have space for it. I even pack both of these when I travel because I don't want to have to try to sleep without them! I like that I can have the Snoogle between my knees, and I feel like it really supports my back well when I lay on my side, too. And if I end up sleeping on my back (which I do almost every night, even at 31 weeks) I don't end up flat on my back because of the Snoogle - my head is elevated well and my feet are, too, so it's not uncomfortable at all.

i would wait and if you start having any sleep issues, try to find something that meets that specific issue. I never found that pillows worked for me, they just disrupted my sleep even more! but i did end up putting an extra small pillow between my knees

Love it. I have chronic low back pain, and it provides great support, while also helping my alignment since I can put the bottom part of the pillow between my knees. It was recommended by my chiropractor, and was a good $50 spent. I have the snoogle.

I just used an extra normal pillow. Put it between my knees if needed or use it to tuck under my belly and wrap my arms around. Totally sufficient last time and seems to be doing the trick this time.

I was going to get one but came up with a system with our regular pillows that worked really well. Regular pillow for my head, softer squishier pillow hugged to my chest and wedged under the belly, thick sturdy pillow between my knees and ankles. Still took up a lot of space in the bed so I was glad we had a king. Like @HeartAbandoned: I even brought them with me when I traveled because most places would have enough pillows for me.

I don't think you need to buy one specially sold for pregnancy but extra pillows are a must! I used one behind my back to keep me on my side and a small travel pillow between my knees

I could have used a wedge for my back at the end of my pregnancy. I was a side sleeper and it would have been a lot more comfortable with something to support my spine.

i positioned various pillows around my legs and arms. i didn't want to buy something that big that was for a very specific purpose--i don't think i would have been able to donate or sell it because of bedbug/germ concerns.

At 31 weeks, I've been pretty comfortable so far just using an extra pillow. It's a king size pillow, so a little longer than a standard, but not as big as a body pillow. I tuck it between my knees and then under my bump.

With my first pregnancy I didn't need one...I just snuggled with a regular pillow. This time I have been a lot less comfortable...I use a body pillow down the middle of the bed with my back toward it, hold a regular pillow, and I just recently bought a wedge to go under the bump. I am still not super comfortable though...but I don't know that a pregnancy pillow would really help. If I wasn't so far along right now I would be willing to try, but for 8 more weeks I think I will just stick it out.

I'm 28 weeks and so far a king size pillow and a memory foam topper have been great, I don't expect to get a pillow.... One more thing to take up room/spend $$ on.

I'm 28 weeks and have slept just fine without any extra pillows so far, but I suspect this could change. I plan to use regular pillows if necessary since only 12 weeks or do to go.

Just use extra normal pillows and save your money for something more fun!

I had a Snoogle and slept well until I delivered. Don't know if it was the pillow or just a coincidence, but I loved that thing.

Loved my snoogle during my first pregnancy! I'll start using it again this pregnancy once I'm further along and bigger.

I didn't have one with my first pregnancy, but really needed something in my second pregnancy. I ended up borrowing one from a friend since it seemed silly to buy one if this is our last baby.

I don't have one, but REALLY wish I did! I could definitely use the extra support.

At 20 weeks it became an absolute necessity due to round ligament pain. A $10 Target body pillow worked just fine though.

I never bought one last pregnancy. Maybe I'll buy a snoogle? Probably not and make do with our gazillion pillows.

I slept with a regular pillow between my legs at the beginning of the third trimester but then got rid of it after I started going to the chiropractor. I think the pregnancy pillow is a waste of money.
pomelo / 5220 posts
I just used a regular pillow in between my legs and sometimes under the belly if I felt the need. Sometimes I wedged it under my back so I wasn't sleeping flat on my back. Between myself, DH and the dog, there was no room for a snoogle.

I just used 3 normal ones. I was already using 2 pre-pregnancy (one for my head and one between my knees) and the. When I got pregnant I added a 3rd to "hug" or rest my arm on to stop myself from rolling forward haha. I never was able to stop using it after baby. Now I'm expecting again so I have a proper excuse again.
I have heard that snoogles are amazing though!

I got a memory foam U-shaped on super early in pregnancy. I initially got one because my breasts were super sore and swollen early on and I get waking myself up by pinching them in various ways moving around in my sleep. Now that I have more of a belly it is helping a lot with getting and staying comfortable on my side without flopping too far on my back or forward and squishing the bump.

I had a body pillow and loved it it was the only way I co get some what comfortable enough to sleeping couldn't sleep without it
pear / 1622 posts
The Snoogle looked very tempting but I knew it would take too much space in the bed and honestly I don't think it would have made me sleep any more than I did. My lack of sleep in the third trimester had more to do with having to pee all the time than not being comfortable.
nectarine / 2784 posts
check out the preggle, I really like mine and it doesn't take up as much space in the bed. I believe there is also a mini-snoogle.
pomegranate / 3127 posts
I tried sleeping with one, usually ended up kicking it across the bed or all the way to the floor. Then I decided I'm better off uncomfortable without the pillow, instead of uncomfortable and getting crowded by a pillow.

I ended up buying just a body pillow at Target, they are a lot cheaper! So far it takes up a lot of space on the bed, but when I need it, it's nice to have! I was just using a regular pillow for a while to make sure it's what was going to actually make me comfortable. I don't know if I would spend money on the larger ones. I also don't have a big enough bed to do so.
grapefruit / 4006 posts
I didn't use one for my first because I didn't need it. With this one I had bad hip pain and having the pregnancy pillow between my legs and supporting my back has helped tremendously with the pain.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I already had a body pillow and when I tried to add the snuggle that someone lent me, it was just too many things to maneuver. I was given a pregnancy wedge instead and used it every night!
