@bushelandapeck: @Anagram: good points. we did discuss in the interview about sickness and agreed that common colds (runny noses etc) were okay to come to work with on both ends. But that vomiting/diarrhea/fever type symptoms were not. And i guess i see it if my LO had something that contagious, i would tell the nanny to stay home whether or not she had a kid as it would not do us any good if she got sick and couldn't come to work anyway the following days. She said her husband's schedule is flexible too so there would also be a possibility of leaving her daughter at home if really needed to due to sickness, otherwise she would not come. So i guess that is another con is that she may call in sick. But i guess i see it as a nanny without kids can also legitimately call in sick at any time.

@LindsayLou: thanks for questions! sleep/nap was my biggest concern and we have talked about it. My 1 year old is transitioning to one nap so by the time she would start, i might even feel comfortable having them nap at the same time (1 midday nap). we are going to do a trial morning this week though to see how it goes with putting both my and her kid down for naps. Apparently her kid goes to sleep very easily and independently. She worked as a live in nanny for 2 years for a family with 3 kids and took them on outings all the time. She was also at my house yesterday afternoon for a trial and took them all to the park and it was a success. so far, i really really like her! But i feel it is a risk too so i am grateful for the input i am getting here, it is giving me stuff to think about.
