Hey moms!
I know that there are threads for pics of moms nursing but I wanted to start one for us who pump. Feeding our babies, no matter how we do it, rocks.
I Ep and supplement with formula.

I e-pumped for the first 3 months (then he magically latched) of my first sons life. It's so much hard work and dedication. Awesome job mamma!

This is great! I don't have a pic but I EP and am still going strong at 9.5 months (although I'm not gonna lie, I am counting the days until I can throw my pump out the window, lol).

@Aandmklover: That's how it was for my DS too! He was itty bitty when he was born though, but when he decided to latch at 6 weeks, it was like he's been doing it since birth. I was so amazed!!!
@MrsADS: I do the same thing and send it to DH and my close lady friends who are also pumping right now. It's such an awesome feeling. lol

I guess I'm combination feeding right now. My LO gets the milk I pump at night and possibly in the morning, and formula during the day. We were having a lot of issues latching, and pumping 8 times a day was making me miserable.

@MrsADS: that's a lot of pumped milk! If send a picture to my husband, too! do you have a feeding/pumping schedule you follow for when you went back to work?

@agold it really depends on your work schedule. I leave the house about 7:30 and get home around 5. From when I went back to work (at 4 months pp) until about 11 months pp, I pumped 2x/day. I pumped 3x/day my first week back but realized it wasn't really necessary, for me.
So I usually pumped about 8:30 and about 12ish. I found my milk production was much higher in the morning than any other time of day.
I think the # of times you pump is related to your breast storage capacity... I will post some links if you haven't read about it. Basically, some moms have a large breast storage capacity and get a lot of milk out every time they pump or nurse; (this is me) may only feed baby on 1 side per feeding because the breast (when full) can hold a lot. These babies may go longer between feedings. Moms with small breast storage capacity need to empty breasts more frequently - baby may need to nurse both sides per feed since breasts do not hold as much milk. Breasts will refill more often.

@MrsADS: thank you for these tips! I just pumped today for the first time. I hope I can get more next time. Maybe changing times of day and whatnot.
