It seems like there is a reasonable explanation for each episode. My vote is it's just random bad luck you had so many in a row.

Our son threw up a fair amount and it turned out to be a dairy allergy... once we switched to an alternative milk, then he stopped throwing up!

Does she have congestion when she throws up? Some kids are more prone to throwing up when they have some post nasal drip going on.

My son threw up once in the middle of the night because he ate too much junk food one day (thanks to grandma...)

Only when he has a stomach virus. Never from teething. Once he threw up because he had a hair in his mouth and gagged himself trying to get it out. Otherwise, if he pukes, he is sick.

We've had 4 seemingly random vomiting episodes in the span of a month and a half, and I had the same questions as you. All of our episodes can be explained by some combination of just having gorged herself on a lot of food, travelling in the car with DH (his driving sometimes makes me feel ill), and being congested. She has been perfectly fine after each episode.

She had a stomach bug once and it was much different. She threw up a few times in a 24-hour period and she was very pale and lethargic after those.

We've had a few similar instances. One time he threw up twice within 10 days so we started limiting his regular milk intake and subbed almond milk more for a month or so. Now he's drinking half regular, half almond milk during the day. I was thinking it helped until he threw up once last week - but he did also have a fever on and off last week, so I think he was fighting a bug.

We've also learned he eats way too much too fast so we're careful with that. When he has a true stomach bug, he will throw up multiple times, every 30 minutes for a few hours, so these random pukes every few months or so are just weird!

My son went through a few months were e would vomit for a week and then almost exactly 1 month later it would happen again. We found out he was completely backed up. We did the miralax to empty him and then pulled him off of liquid milk. We haven't had an incident in over a year.

So random vomiting is possible. Keep an eye on things and look for a pattern but don't stress.

@Ajsmommy: He had just turned 3. I think the other issue with milk is that too much constipates him, which others have mentioned has been an issue with the puking.
