I love to read, but just don't do a lot of it these days. We are going on vacation on Saturday for a week, and although I know I won't have a lot of time to read, I was hoping for some book suggestions. My 14 month old DD will keep me on my toes a lot, and I'll be 10 weeks pregnant, so energy is low and napping is a priority, so any suggestions for easy reads that don't take a lot of focus? I really like historical fiction, but enjoy lots of different types of reads.

I really like the SIGMA force novels by James Rollins...easy to read, not too deep and entertaining! They're sort of special ops with historical/archeological/scientific missions thrown in.

Silver Star by Jeanette Walls. Super quick read!

I just finished A Discovery of Witches. Not super short, but I flew through it. Good mix of supernatural, science, and history.

The best book I've read in a LONG time is The Nightinggale by Kristen Hannah, it is soooo good. It's an easy read.

I like young adult books when I have no mental energy- hunger games, or the divergent series. Also anything by liane moriarty is pretty good and light. Lately I can't even get through young adult books.

I second young adult books. I like Tamora Pierce. Or how about Tina Fey's memoirs?

@LAZB: I just read a book called Catostrophic Happiness in two evenings. It's a funny memoir type book about life with young kids. Hysterical and a super easy read!

@LAZB: One For the Money by Janet Evanovich. I love this whole series and they are some of the few books that make me laugh out loud.

I have enjoyed a lot of Jojo Moyes lately! Some are historical and they move quickly but are well written.
