I'm trying to get away with one pair of shoes for my dd that will go with most outfits. Everything I've seen isn't my style 
it's neon or has ugly flowers! I just want a simple stylish pair of toddler shoes!! Any recs or is this impossible? Because I can't deal with $45 for ugly shoes to get worn for 3 months

@gotkimchi: how old is she and what style are you looking for? I like Bobux, SKR, Pedipeds, and Stride Rite(a lot of their shoes are "loud" but they also have some totally plain ones).

I got a pair of black patent mary janes for LO from Stride Rite. They were her first shoes and went with everything!

@sunny: I have plain back patent leather Mary Janes from stride rite too! We also like them for Lo.
I guess I'm a freak though, because when LO is wearing jeans and a navy shirt or something, I just can't put her in black shoes, haha.

She has really tiny feet so they are still the early walker shoes, but they have even more options in the harder sole ones. We used Clarks for DS too and were always able to find one style that worked well with everything.

I bought a pair of these new on eBay for like $15 and they went with pretty much everything.

@gotkimchi: We have these in black and red. The black goes with most everything except navy or super springy/summary outfits (they also come in white). -black mary janes (the ones pictured, appropriate for running at the playground, not dress shoes)

My son has a pair of brown leather shoes from Stride Rite, and a pair of grey sneakers. They are pretty neutral. I share your sentiments about a lot of the children's designs. In our case, though, we have a very fat-footed child so we were limited to Stride Rite since they sell especially wide sizes.

I really like Pediped Originals for early walkers. Most of their Originals designs are simpler/cuter than their stuff for older kids. I bought these as a first pair for LO2 and they also come in white and pink.

Zara has adorable shoes. Livie and Luca too. They will be more expensive but there a ton of resale sites on fb, so you can probably at least get half your money back (often more). I buy Livies on sale and have always been able to sell them so they equal being free or equivalent to me having dished out $10.

Depends on your weather and style, but I'd probably pick a pair of Mini Melissa Zig Zags (Gold or the metallic white as we head into summer). The black cats in MMs also go well with a lot, even though they're a bit cutest. My DD started wearing MMs at that age and loooves them. If I were to pick one more that goes with almost anything would be Saltwater Sandals. I think the Sea Wees and Sweetheart styles were easier to walk in too.
