Fisher price snuggle bunny, or whatever variation they are making now. LO napped in it for the first several months. It was great. Only thing that sucks is that it has a larger footprint.

I had a Fisher Price Rainforest Friends travel swing. It does not plug in, but the batteries last a really long time since she didn't sleep overnight in it. It's very small, which was our main requirement.

I agree with the fisher price snugga bunny. I had registered for a smaller, cheaper option and my boss at the time got me a gift card and told me that swing was crap and to get the one with as many bells and whistles as possible. The twirling mobile, the music, the recline feature, the ability to switch from side to side swinging to front to back swinging... all those features were used. That swing was baby sleeping magic.

Another vote for the fisher price snugga bunny or puppy or whatever animal you choose! It plugs in and my LO loved that thing. It is on the large side though, but to me it was worth it!

We have a Fisher Price snugga (puppy). LOVE it. Don't particularly enjoy the space it takes up. LO is almost 4 months and we are still using it daily. I will be giving it up soon though.

Another vote for Snugabunny, it's on the bigger side, but man that thing was a LIFE SAVER! DD would nap in it or calm down in it when nothing else worked.

We got our LO a mammaroo by 4 moms. We liked it because it didn't take much room and had different swing modes and you can plug your phone in to play music. Our LO loves it. It cost a little more than the other swings, but we got ours on sale at babies r us and also had a coupon, so the price wasn't so bad at the end.

@Mrs.Waffles: I've heard so many mixed things about the Mamaroo. Does it take the place of any "gear" besides a swing for you?

I think so, at least for us. Because, it has different modes and speed, we didn't have to get the swing, the little bouncer, and rocker (although it doesn't necessarily have a rocker setting). My LO napped in it the first few months. He is six months now and he just hangs out in it for the ride. Sometimes he will nap in it. The only other thing we had to buy recently is a jumperoo from fisher price, mainly because he likes to be in a standing position and jumping. LOL. But I really love that the mammaroo is a space saver and it's really light to move around. One thing though is that before my baby was born, people were telling me that some babies will refuse to be on a swing and that maybe we should hold off on buying it until he arrives and then see if you can test one in the store with him in it. We didn't do that, but it worked out for us. Now would he had been happier with a traditional swing? Don't know, can't compare. He seems to like it fine. I suggest for you to visit their website 4 moms, they have a video, you can also go to babies r us and test out the display. My baby loves the car ride setting. Also, if you do decide on the mommaroo, I suggest getting the 4 moms baby snuzzler so the baby fits more snug or any baby snuzzler. We got the same brand so that it matches the mommaroo. @Mrs.Waffles: Another vote here for the Mamaroo. We never had a Rock n Play or anything else that rocked, and he could nap for hours in that Mamaroo. Like @Mrs.Waffles: we used the baby insert so he was nice and snuggly! With the different speeds and settings, it wasn't hard at all to transition him to napping on a flat/motionless surface, either. It took me a while to realize this because they don't mention this as much as the mp3 aspect, but there are white noise settings built in.

The Fisher Price Cradle n' Swing, which is what the Snugabunny/Snugapuppy/etc are! It is the BEST swing.

We had the momaroo for our first. She only tolerated it if she was already asleep when we put her in. There were a lot of things we loved about it, unfortunately she just didn't like it.

We have the Graco Glider LX. It plugs in, has a nice, neutral grey and yellow color scheme, and doesn't take up a big foot print! I initially wanted the FP Snuggabunny, but then saw that it was quite large so switched to the Graco.

@Meridian: My husband loves that one, so we're strongly considering it. My only hesitation is that it apparently has a gliding motion instead of a traditional swinging motion, and can only go one direction (whereas many swings go side to side and front to back).
Are you happy with it?

Another vote for the Snuggabunny. That thing saved my life and sanity. Fortunately i was able to borrow one so it wasn't a big deal if it hadn't worked out. Is that an option for you?

100% the Snuggabunny. It was pretty much the only big piece of gear we used or really needed until she was 6 months and we got a jumperoo.

I considered a rockaroo because it takes up a lot less space, but we ended up getting a second hand Fisher Price swing. Our baby isn't here yet, but my nephew loved his so much, my husband was afraid to go with anything else.

We borrowed the Fisher Price Snug-a-bunny, and it was fantastic! The friend we borrowed it from needed it back, but now that we're expecting #2 and she's done with it, she sold it to us for $50. Not sure I would buy it at full price (I think they are between 200-300), but you can find them used all the time!

Any of the snuga swings or cradle and sway little lamb. They're virtually the same, just make sure to get the mobile with a mirror!

We loved our mamaroo - it was the only place she would nap until she was 6 months old

We had a hand-me-down Mamaroo, and our son slept in it almost exclusively for the first 6ish weeks.
