@tequiero21: It has been a few years since we went, but we enjoyed our time at http://www.iberostar.com/en/hotels/punta-cana/iberostar-punta-cana

@birdofafeather: Back in the day adult only was a perk! We really enjoyed it!

@Boogs: oh yeah, for sure! Just saying the OP probably doesn't have that option! But they're all attached if I remember correctly!

@birdofafeather: Oh shoot, yeah duh me!
I know someone who stayed at the Hard Rock and also had an excellent time!

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Bavaro and loved it. It is 4 resorts in 1 so you never get bored. Also, no one spoke English at all at the resort, which was surprising since resorts we've stayed at in the Caribbean and Mexico usually people spoke some English. It wasn't a problem though.
One tip I heard from people were talked to at the airport is the closer you stay to the airport, the more seaweed is on the beaches? A couple only 2 resorts down had terrible seaweed at their place while we had the most immaculate beaches I've ever seen.
Have fun!!

Iberostar Grand was amazing for our honeymoon. Our taxi drive from the airport commented on how we picked the best resort in Punta Cana and he wasn't lying!

While I wasn't at the Punta Cana location, I really loved the Excellence all inclusive branch! But it is adults only though.

Oooh that sounds divine. You may already know this (and I'm sorry if I'm overstepping bounds!) but there's Zika in Dominican and since you're pregnant you may want to avoid!

We stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real a year ago and loved it. There was lots of seaweed on the beach, and this apparently has been an issue across Caribbean beaches for a few years now (http://www.chicagotribune.com/lifestyles/travel/ct-seaweed-caribbean-beaches-20150810-story.html). We didn't really mind. It was still a great time!

I've stayed at the Paradisus Punta Cana and it was just okay. However, I think they have completely redone it since I was there 3 years ago and it looks awesome now! I stayed at a Paradisus in Mexico and it was amazing so I would be open to giving it another try if they have invested some money into it!

@winniebee: i did not know that, I didn't even check, thx! lol. But doesn't matter. Everything is sold out!!!! looks like everyone has booked far in advance. Unfortunately, we decided too last minute. I guess one month isn't enough. Everywhere is booked. At least all the four and five star hotels. All Caribbean islands.

@tequiero21: you'd probably be out of luck with most of the carribean in terms of Zika anyways :(. Are you going to try something else?

@winniebee: so funny. Before this pregnancy, we waited until after our trip to Turks and Caicos in August to try to have baby #4 because of Zika, but now that I'm pregnant, we didn't think about it at all lol. Not sure where we will go. Caribbean is all booked anyway. We were thinking key west or somewhere but I know parts of Florida had Zika.

@tequiero21: Southwest is still an option! You could go to a spa in Sedona or Phoenix/Scottsdale!

Hawaii is probably the best "tropical" bet right now but I'm guessing it would be expensive if you're taking a holiday trip.
You would probably be fine anywhere in FL outside Miami-Dade County (http://www.cdc.gov/zika/intheus/florida-update.html). The mosquitos that carry Zika tend to stay pretty local - they can't travel far.

We usually rent a villa at Casa de Campo, which is in La Romana - about an hour from the Punta Cana airport. It's a huge private resort with a hotel, houses, smaller villas, a marina, several restaurants. It's gorgeous!!
