Stick for a child... less mess. However, Papermate Flairs are a favorite of many teachers, for their personal grading stash! I'd be like, kid, what do you want to trade? Haha jk.

Felt tip if they're for the teacher; stick/gel if they're for the children to use (due to the mess/bleeding through/smudge/stain factor with felt tip). I remember it being a big deal when I first got to have my own felt tip correction pens.

Also, it's really easy to crush the tips on the stick kind you posted with too much pressure. Is a roller ball type of pen a permitted option?

@Mamaof2: I think the marking pens is just to tell parents what they'll be used for.... in that case, I'd go with the rollerball (standard) red pens, they'd be the cheapest and last longer than the stick style.

@Mamaof2: Then is definitely buy cheap rollerball. DD's school specified brands for everything, so I thought maybe your links were the brands the school/teacher asked for.
