So we are taking a road trip next week to my SIL's for my nephews 1st birthday (it's also our anniversary) about 3.5 hours away. We are staying at a Residence Inn in a 1 bedroom suite. The problem is my DD doesn't sleep in the car. Well, she does, but she fights it and only takes 30 min naps, but we've only traveled during the day. We did leave my in-law's house once and was able to transfer her to her car seat from the PnP and she fell back asleep and slept the hour ride home. We were thinking of leaving at bedtime, covering her car-seat so it's dark and hoping she'll fall asleep and stay asleep for the ride up. Then we are going to transfer her to the hotel crib (it'll already be in the room) when we get there.

Is this a good plan? I'm not sure how else to do it! Maybe nurse her to sleep(y) in the car, then strap her in the car-seat? As you can see, I'm a little nervous about this trip!

ETA: She'll be almost 8 months
