Does anyone know of any websites that help you place furniture in a room?
I am looking to rearrange our living room, and possibly do some room swaps between kids and our office!

There's an app called Tap Glance Interior Design (by Black Mana Studios) that was pretty easy to navigate and had a whole bunch of furniture options.

Pottery Barn has one on their website. The way I used it was picked out furniture that matches the scale of furniture I was eyeing (not PB) to get a feel for the space and layout.

@birdofafeather: I've heard of modsy too and I'm thinking about trying them. I love the idea of seeing a 3D mock up of where furniture would go in my house (vs just seeing a blueprint).

@birdofafeather: @matador84: @Bluebonnet: Has anyone actually tried Modsy? I signed up because I needed design and layout help. I am not impressed with their tools once I log in. I can't create a mood board to send them my styles and items I"m interested to use in the room. Their products seem limited although many retailers are listed.

@T.H.O.U.: I'm just seeing this. I'm in the middle of designing a room with Modsy. I agree the tools are clunky and not as easy to use as I'd hoped. My mood board wasn't great because I didn't really understand how it worked, but it ended up not mattering.
I was very happy with one of the layouts and modified the layout slightly, then asked for a bunch of revisions. I'm anxious to see what they send back. I requested several items be switched out (and I included links), so hopefully they'll do the hard part for me.
What I needed most, was a better understanding of how everything would fit in my space, and it did accomplish that goal. Now we're fine tuning the design.
I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

@Bluebonnet: Thanks! yes please keep me posted.
I went ahead and finally got the mood-board submitted although like you said, I dont know that it will have much impact into my design. A lot of things I like are still crossing many styles which is what I wanted design help on (aka just because I like a modern lamp, doesn't mean it will fit into my traditional style room/house).
Im just worried that if their simple mood board software was this clunky, how is the design studio tool going to work.
I too want help on layout and what will fit in the space. So if nothing else hopefully they can help with that.

@T.H.O.U.: I'm curious to see what you think when you get your room layout.
Seeing everything in my space was crucial to being able to better articulate what I did and did not like about the design. It was also a great starting point to having a discussion with DH because we could talk about what we did and did not like about the pieces chosen. Ex - love the color, don't like the shape.
We're going furniture shopping this weekend and now we can focus on looking for few specific pieces vs aimlessly wandering thorough all the furniture stores.
