We are going to San Diego next week (me, DH, 4 year old DD, And 1 year old DS). Anyone have any family friendly recommendations? We have only been once before so we don't have a lot of experience with the area. Best beaches? Best family friendly restaurants? Any other must see/do places?

I know Sea World gets a bad rap, but they have a Sesame Street land that my daughter loved. We went for two days when she was 15 months and she could not have been happier.
Also recommend the zoo. And if you're willing to drive, the wild animal park and Legoland.
Oh! And check out the seals and sea lions in La Jolla. It's incredible! There are tons of them and you really get to see them up close on the rocks and beach. And La Jolla is a really fun place to explore generally.

Legoland is awesome for young kids. The zoo is a must see too.

Where are you staying? Lots of SD bees on here! The new children's museum is awesome and there is a waterfront water park that's great too if you're near downtown.

Waypoint Public is a restaurant/bar that has a kid play area. There are two locations. I also like Puesto at the Headquarters with kids. Normal restaurant but in the small courtyard is a fountain, toy store and ice cream spot. And it's by the water... Lots of the beaches have a playground too, check first...
Petco park (baseball) is fun with kids. Get tickets to the "park at the park"...you sit on the grass behind the outfield.
It's been cold so bring lots of layers!

I would recommend that u stay away from zoo!!! Not until kids r older. Took my 4,4,2 yo kids and it was pretty painful. Was a drive but we did legoland and Disneyland which my kids LOVED. Legoland is perfect for 4yos. We did the zoo - could have totally done without. We did the children's museum in the gaslamp district (?) - which the kids thoroughly enjoyed.
