I bring my son to work with me at a children boutique a few times a week. A baby was having a meltdown and i offered to give the momma a break for a little bit and hold her new squish (less than 2 months.) my 1 year old son was in a ring sling and we rocked together the three of us for a while . Baby calmed down momma got to do some shopping and my son was so thrilled about being so close to a new baby.
I guess my parenting win that i felt happy about was: That my little boy loves other babies, that i am getting over my PPD enough to even want to hold other peoples children and that a crying baby didn't set me into panic mode like it did when my son had colic for months.

We went to a holiday event over the weekend and there was a marionette show that lasted around 15-20 minutes. LO sat through the entire thing quietly (all the kids were on the floor and parents were at tables). A ton of other kids were running around like crazy and she was so good! A couple of parents complimented her afterwards (she was the youngest there). I'm sure it was mostly just luck and not something I've actually done, but it made me feel good.

LO was SUPER well behaved at dinner out tonight and so polite. She even ordered her own food from the waiter and said please and thank you a million times. At the end of the meal the waiter came back as we were putting our coats on just to tell us he could tell we were really good parents. My heart melted. It's definitely not always so easy.

This wasn't recent... about a year ago LO had a tantrum in front of a restaurant we were suppose to have lunch with people in and we were trying to calm him down with music from my phone.
He took my phone and threw in the street. It totally broke my phone (it was an iphone). I looked it ... and acknowledged it was broken and put in my pocket and went back to try to clam LO down. We finally calmed LO down after about 5 minutes and we were able to go into the restaurant.
As we were going in... a complete stranger stopped me and told me what a great parent I am. He said he watched the whole thing and thought we handled everything really well especially the part where LO broke my phone. He has seen that type of stuff happen before and other parents loose their minds when their kids break something so valuable. Just wanted to tell us we were great parents and keep it up.
Honestly I was sad he broke my phone but I was more concerned calming him down. Also DH and I have emergency money to replace things like that.
The strangers comments did make me feel warm and fuzzy inside like maybe we are doing something right?
