We’re traveling with our 3 year old and 10 month old in a couple weeks and at this point, scheduled to share a hotel room with two beds and a crib set up (provided by hotel). Both kids are (knock on wood) good sleepers and sleep in their own rooms and beds/cribs without an issue at home. We have not traveled with our youngest yet, but in the past, when we’ve traveled with our toddler, she’s refused to sleep separately from us even when we’ve rented homes with separate sleeping spaces for her so we’re resigned to her sleeping in the same room as us. Hopefully she’ll sleep in the bed herself but likely one of us will share with her and the other parent gets to be the lucky one with a bed to themselves. I think she’ll sleep okay as long as she’s in a comfortable bed either with one of us or at least in the room with us. But my bigger concern is the baby - she typically sleeps better in her own space and without view of us (otherwise she clearly would rather be up and with us). Outside of trying to upgrade and get a room with a separate living space of some sort, any idea on how to get her to sleep in a crib in a shared hotel room situation? We’re considering moving hotels to something that allows for a suite situation if not available at our hotel but it’s possible that we won’t be able to make that switch and just make do with our current set up. Any suggestions to save us from 4 bad nights of sleep would be great! Thanks!
