I'm using my neti pot. Taking acetaminophen. Taking benadryl. Staying in the shower until I've used all the hot water.

But my primary coping method is being a bitch to everyone around me. Hopefully we both feel better soon.

Super hot showers, Neti pot, and hot tea.

Coupled with naps & trashy tv.

I finally broke down crying to DH after calling into work sick. Rest and sleep is all that really helped. It sucks.

Oh man, at the end of August I was SO sick and just stayed in bed... tylenol wouldn't touch anything so I took it once and didn't bother again. It is now almost November and I still have a HORRIBLE chest cough I can't do anything about. It wears me down big time and doesn't help that I'm super nauseous I just cry a lot. Seriously. And try to stay in bed as much as possible. Take a lot of hot showers and try to stay hydrated. I can't imagine how you must be feeling at 34 weeks Hopefully you can get a lot of rest!!! Feel better!

I was really sick around 32 weeks pregnant. Awful cold and had a cough so bad that I bruised my ribs. I was giving cough med w/codeine and wore a panty liner because my cough was so bad I kept peeing myself !(extremely low baby on my bladder...ahh the joys of pregnancy)

All I ever did was drink warm lemon + honey water and gatorade to make sure I was hydrated and sleep as much as possible. I went to the doctor once and she told me I was dehydrated, even though I'd been sucking down a ton of water. Being sick in the third tri sucks! Hope you feel better soon

@Snowdrop: Yes, same deal. I took it a few times and it didn't really do anything, but I also didn't have a temp thank goodness.

@snowjewelz: Yeah, I had no idea I could be dehydrated with the amount of water I was drinking. She told me I really needed to make sure I was drinking things like gatorade or orange juice to get more electrolytes in and help retain some of the water I was drinking, instead of just peeing it all out. Thinking back, I think I did feel much better after I started drinking more gatorade/juice. It would be worth a try!

@snowjewelz: Ugh, true. Maybe try the sugar free kind? It is the electrolytes that are the important part, not the sugar. Either way, I hope you are able to find something to help you feel better soon!

@snowjewelz: I'm so sorry you're going through that. Even regular tylenol helped me when I was in your shoes. I think you've received really amazing advice here, and I just wanted to send good wishes!!

I drank a lot of hot tea, did my best to sleep (which is hard with a cough ) & basically slept with a Ricola in my mouth all night. Unfortunately, that lead to an awful canker sore but it helped me get some sleep.

This post must have jinxed me... I read it yesterday. Ended up feeling sick last night and now today. How miserable!

I feel your pain! I got a horrible cold a couple days ago. So far just taking tylenol and drinking warm lemon water and honey. Nothing really makes me feel any better though.
