My 2.5 year old has had nightmarish sleep since December. Barely naps, and when he does bedtime is even more of a disaster, although it's not easy even when he doesn't nap. He "needs" us in his room until he's asleep and then cries out for us at least once in the night to do the same. We've ended up taking turns sleeping on a camping pad on his floor most nights.

I'm wondering about pulling the trigger on a sleep consultant but wonder if they do well with older kids I.e not infants. Any experience out there?
