wow, so incredibly beautifully written, and deeply heart-wrenching. You have a gift in maneuvering life in a completely unselfish and gracious way. We can all learn from how you are protecting him, and yet your own heart along this entire journey.

I've been here - it's the saddest I've ever been, and I truly thought I would never find happiness again. I won't get into the whole "It gets better!" and "You'll be glad again soon!" stuff - I hated hearing all of that when I was mourning my marriage - but I will say to let people help you. Let friends come over, even if you're not in the mood to be around people, and let the people you're close to know how you're feeling.
It was helpful for me and a few of my other divorced friends to disconnect from social media and, as painful as it felt at first, cut ties with some people who made me think of my ex and the pain he caused me. Some people might take sides, and as hard as it will be, try to not get offended.

I found the book ' how to survive the loss of a love' (short essays and poems about lost love) comforting when I had to say goodbye to someone I loved.
Loving someone and knowing it isn't enough is the worst. -
