LO is 9 months and has been ramping up solids big time. I'm still BFing 3x a day and he's getting 10oz of pumped milk at daycare.

For the last two weeks he's been making 6-7 very small poops per day. They are play doh texture. It's making his butt really sore because it's hard to notice when he goes.

I've been treating it like he is constipated because I remember reading a lot of small poops can indicate constipation. Prunes cleared him out once but the small poops have continued despite keeping a lot of prunes, pears, beans & lentils in his diet. We're also encouraging water but he hasn't quite caught on yet. He's only successfully drank water from a bottle cap not a bottle or soppy cup.

Does it sound like constipation? How hard is a hard poop? What else might it be? Or is this many poops still within normal range?

I think he had HFM right before this started. I assume it's unrelated but he still spots on his thighs that I see when I change him so the two are somewhat linked in my mind. The HFM did cut down his BM intake significantly and we haven't recovered that supply.
