I've always liked Jasper for a boy. But we don't have a boy, and Mr. T nixed it.

I like Beau! But in these parts it's usually spelled Bo. Some southern/country names I like are Sawyer, Wyatt, Tucker, Jackson, Everett, Clay, and Toby. I think Biblical names send to sound more southern as well... Jedediah (Jed), Ezekiel (Zeke), Issac (Ike), Isaiah, Jeremiah, Silas, Amos, etc. etc.
I LOVE old-fashioned, country names. Of course we went with Sadie for a girl, and Silas & Sawyer are our go-to boy names.

No opinion, but my dad wanted to name my oldest brother Beau! My mom said no kids will make fun of him and call him bow-tie. I always think beau for beautiful and would also bring teasing for a boy.

@MsLipGloss: My son is Rhett.
@T.H.O.U.: I like Case a lot. I also like Beau, but I know about 20 in my age range, so it's not as unique to me. Not sure if that matters. It might have calmed down for babies these days.
We had Archer and Thatcher on our list. Some others that come to mind:
Colton
Clint or Flint
Marshall
Cash
Judd
Jackson
Tate
Wyatt
These are just some names I've heard around here in the past few years.

Whoa! 50/50 right now. I voted for Beau. So cute. Some other southern names that come to mind are Hunter, Forrest, Tucker, Cash, Jed.

I love beau but I'm not a fan of case. Is that a real name in the south? It reminds me of cerie from 30 rock, who said one of her girl names would be bookcase.

I like Case, but DH would never, ever agree to it- it's the wrong color, lol. <-----that has to do with tractor brands, not skin color.
My first son's name is Gabriel and we call him Gabe and if we have a boy this time, his name will be Jakob/Jake and I think those are country boy names.
Other ones would be:
Trace/Tracy
Wes
Jedidiah (lol)
Dusty
Wyatt
Colt/Colton
Kelly
Garth
That's just a few off the top of my head. Pretty much any shortened Bible name would qualify too, I think.

@BananaPancakes: @T.H.O.U.: I love, love the name Wyatt. Not sure why it's not in the running with Jakob. Probably because DH shot it down.
ETA: But Wyatt Remington (our absolutely for sure boy middle name) wouldn't be a little over the top, would it?

I know two Beaus here in Virginia, both are actually lawyers! One is really hot! LOL
I really wanted the name Emmett for my son (it's my dads middle name) but DH'S said its "too country."

@Leialou: Boo, hiss! Lol. DH actually used to be a service technician at two different Case IH dealerships and always said he'd never have to worry about job security, baha.

@BananaPancakes: love Colton, but sounds too much like our last name! @mrsmate: HAHA I love 30 rock
They both sound like nicknames to me! Beau makes me think of the Ben Stiller movie Heartbreak Kid (if you've seen it, wouldn't be funny to explain it all out).

@T.H.O.U.: I was gonna say Beau before I opened the thread!

I love southern names so much. DS1's name always makes the southern name lists and DS2's name will too. We haven't decided on a middle name for #2 yet.
These aren't on our list but I think they're pretty southern.
Hamilton
Ledger
Brantley
Emerson
Everett

I voted Case. DH and I love old country singers names, so Waylon Cash was at the top of our list if LO had been a boy.

I have only heard of Case as a stage name for a R&B singer. The way some names are pronounced male them country IMO. I have heard Ryan and Kyle pronounced with a drawl.

Jewel's (the singer) son is Kase. I love that name.
My cousin's son is Jase.

If Beau is what you'd call a child with the given name Beauregard, I vote yes. I don't mind nicknames, but I'm not a huge fan of given names that are really nicknames.
Other names with a Southern ring (to me): Harrison, Waugh, Clarence, Willis, Glen, Randall, Quentin, Weston, Jackson.

I really like Case.
I think Blake and Huck are adorable and country sounding, too.

I saw a birth announcement on a hospital website that people had a baby named Gage. He joined his brothers Colt and Remington.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
@dagret: I know a gage! I always thought it was a cool name, but I'll admit, it does sound a little weird next to those other two names.
pear / 1571 posts
@dagret: Lol, I confess that I think those names are kinda freakin' awesome. I may or may not be a tiny little bit of a redneck at heart. A little off topic, but the preacher at a wedding I just shot, his name was Ruger Winchester. I about fell over.

I knew a really pretentious guy named Beau, so I am biased against it. I looooooooove Mason though!
