We're looking into a kid-free weekend (2-3 nights) in St. Augustine at the end of March or beginning of April next year. Give me all of your tips and recommendations! Places to stay, things to do, places to eat. I know the distillery looks great and the historic district looks awesome to walk around in. I think my husband is also interested in the fort. We're trying to keep it lower budget so any tips on that end would be great, too!

There's a place called the Hyppo that has these homemade Popsicles in really yummy flavors like Mango Champagne and Basil Strawberry. It's always on my list! The fort is really cool, I wouldn't miss that.

This is my hometown! DH and I go every year for our anniversary (can't beat free grandparent childcare!) We love St Augustine.
The distillery and Ice Plant are awesome. Yummy food and handcrafted drinks along with a cool atmosphere. You could spend an entire day around the historic downtown district (and we usually do) just bar hopping, eating and shopping along St George Street. If you start at the south end of the street near the plaza and cathedral and work your way north, you'll end up by the fort. It's a great place to experience the history of the town. I also like the oldest wooden school house (on st George st) for a little dose of history. Hyppo is a local staple! The blackberry clove pop is my favorite. Pizzallys has a great happy hour (2for1 everything and a free slice of yummy pizza). lol, I'm great for bar recos once you get close and want some specifics
I'm a scaredy cat, so I've never done the ghost tours but I hear really great things about them, and it's another cool way to hear about the history of the town.
