How long did it take for your LO to figure out how to eat/enjoy eating solids? I started on oatmeal and sweet potatoes and it's not going over well. It just all falls out of her mouth, I think she is yet to swallow anything!

We started right at 6 months and she took to it surprisingly fast- I was surprised she actually ate the very first time (as evidenced by her new disgusting poop). We did BLW and started wth soft roasted sweet potato sticks. But still, for every bit she took probably at least five votes were on her face, hands, or high chair.

We started at 4 months to try get some extra chub on a skinny baby, and it took a while. We started with bananas thinned out with breast milk - oatmeal might be too lumpy at first? At the beginning you're just trying to get tastes into their mouths so they're interested in swallowing more.

We started at six months and it took almost a good two months to really get chewing and swallowing.

Thanks! I will keep trying. She cried at the oatmeal but was laughing when we gave her sweet potatoes... she just didn't swallow it Don't they say food before one is just for fun?

We started at 6 months and she quit at 6.5 months and restarted at 7. We tried BLW but she won't put food into her mouth (everything else if fair game though!)

Probably about a month. We started around 6.5 and by 8 she was a champ.

We started with oatmeal at 6 months and progressed to BLW within a month. He gagged a lot, but he got the concept of putting food in his mouth and eating it. I would say by 8/9 months he was consistently feeding himself and eating it.
And yes, their poops go to a whole new level. It starts resembling more like adult poop and also smells like it. Gag. And you learn real fast what gets digested well and what doesn't and what doesn't come out pretty. lol

About three days. My supply had dropped and she was really hungry. Sink or swim I guess.

We started purees like a week or two before she turned 6 mo and she took to it right away. But it's different for every baby; just keep offering and let her get used to it! We only did purees for maybe 2-3 weeks then switched to BLW.
