Its getting so good. But so dark! I'm getting sucked into it especially aunt lydia and all their terms "blessed be the fruit" Funny enough how I could actually see some of this happening in real life. People seem so ready to accept terrible things and excuse it.

I’m still watching - I seriously considered giving it up after the first episode of this season but I couldn’t, it’s so good even though it’s so grim! I haven’t seen the most recent one (my husband and I watch together and he’s been away) but I really liked last week’s, although that could be because I’m from Toronto so I loved seeing it as actually Toronto as opposed to various outdoor Gilead locations, and I liked seeing the Canadians standing up to the Americans.

Absolutely disgusting how Serena and the Commander used rape as revenge on the most recent episode.
I know we are all watching a TV show, but my goodness it’s creepy how the start of Gilead feels like what’s going on right now. A FB friend posted something to the effect it’s amazing people are separating kids from their parents all because someone told them to. My husband is a Federal employee and now that Trump finally has a permanent Secretary for his department, my husband’s work environment has drastically changed. For instance, due to the new guidelines he hasn’t been home since the first weekend in May.

I look forward to every Wednesday bc of this. Although, that's kind of sick, bc it is do hard to watch. I had to fast forward through the hand-burning, "domestic discipline," and rape scenes.
I find it amazing how every other episode humanizes Serena, and then every other episode reveals more awfulness from her.
Also, I LOVE the backstory episodes.

In some ways it reminds me of game of thrones in the way they humanize the villains. Yes I can actually see this happening in real life. People are surprisingly willing to use the bible as justification for awful things. As a very active Christian myself it never fails to surprise me.
