My new house does not have a linen closet. There is a pretty big nook at the top of the stairs where I would like to add storage. Except I can't decide what kind!
I was thinking either a large sideboard under the window, tall freestanding cabinets on each side of the window, or built in cabinets under the window.

I would use the entire wall space. You'll never regret having more storage.

I love the pictures @Hypatia and @catgirl linked. I think tall cupboards flanking the window is going to look weird, my feeling is you need to use the full width.

Oh boooo. OH just pointed out that we can't do anything built in because that nook is needed to fit large items up the stairs. So now I need to find a solution like @catgirl: posted but with taller storage in the middle.
