How do you store outdoor toys? Not big things like bikes, those are jammed in the garage, but things like accessories for the water table, buckets and cups, that kind of stuff. Right now they are strewn across our deck where they play with them. Thinking of getting one of those deck storage boxes meant for seat cushions and stuff but wondering I'm in missing an easier or better idea.

A deck storage box, while prettier, will still let dirt and water in. We've got a big rubbermaid/sterilite container (one of the grey, thicker, outdoor ones) and most of our outdoor toys go in there after we give them a quick rinse with the hose and let them dry off. Water-table-specific accessories I try to keep in the water table itself in the garage to help them stay even cleaner.

A deck storage box, with those Rubbermaid containers with a locking seal inside. We store our pool towels in there and they've never gotten wet. We also have a box where we keep remote control boats and submarines and again, no damage.
The one on our deck doesn't get water in it at all, and we don't use the box in a box system there.
The other option is one of those garbage storage sheds, you can put a shelf system in them and they're great for stacking storage.

We are getting a deck storage box (the bench kind for extra seating). It will be under our covered patio though so I don't have to worry about things getting wet.

@Foodnerd81: we use this to store most of the outdoor toys because it is breathable and will not trap dirt and water. When the toys do get dirty I put them through the dishwasher and use the sanitize setting

We have a deck storage box for our outdoor cushions plus there is room for some toys. Nothing gets wet. Then other larger things go in the shed.

@PinkElephant: I was wondering how water tight those storage boxes are. Maybe a big rubbermaid container would be better.
We do have part of the deck that is covered but that's were the table is so it tends to be a little more crowded. But a rubbermaid bin I could pull over as needed anyway.
@looch: No room for a big garbage storage shed, at least not someplace that would be convenient to get toys out every other day. If it's not easy I won't do it. I'm lazy.

@mrswin: I was thinking about water and dirt getting trapped and things getting moldy if they are slightly wet when I put them away. Not a bad idea.

@Foodnerd81: That is the one downfall - if someone leaves the lid off and it gets wet or dirty, full-on nastiness ensues. I just spray it out once every few weeks anyway and let toys dry on the lawn while we are playing on a hot day. I'm really lazy about stuff like this, and it's honestly NBD.
Also, I don't have one of those nicer wicker-look storage containers to compare....so if other ladies are saying that they keep things dry, I'm sure they are right! Those look loads nicer- we just have lots of curious wildlife, so I prefer things to be pretty airtight.

@Foodnerd81: I am lazy too, that's basically because I don't want to do things multiple times! I want one solution that will cover multiple things for extended periods of time, not always possible though!
I like the Roughneck totes (available at Home Depot) for the outdoor stuff. The only problem is that in extreme heat, the lids warp and you never get a good true seal.

We have the plastic drawers but they are under our covered porch. Seems to be working well and the drawers slide out fully if we needed to wash them.

@snowjewelz: Yes those are also great for out doors. Or if you can find a similar tote like that for sand toys because it has holes on the bottom to let water out. Or a milk crate.
