@LindsayInNY: yea, it would be so very easy for me to go back to black. I'm still not 100% sold on the red. Although, I do think I could have worn more colour with black hair than this red, but that could be because I'm just not used to the colour yet.

@loveisstrange: I love the ombré, I wanted to do that but my stylist was all "pooey on that!" Haha so, now I'm a dark coppery red.

@.twist.: Oops, I recommended the dark red tank because I thought your hair was still black! I think you could pull off green/blue nicely!

@redsmarties: @snowjewelz: @LindsayInNY: @IRunForFun: @loveisstrange: ok ladies, sorry for being annoying, haha but this is what I got and I wanna know if I did ok! I'm fine returning anything.

The two top pics are the more out there ones. The left, navy one is so out of my norm that I am not actually sure what to even where with it on the bottom. The right, skull one was cute, but does it look ok? What would I pair with it? I don't know HOW to wear these two pieces but they were cute and looked trendy...

Then a couple cardigans and some v neck t's.

I couldn't find any pants. Their jeans don't fit me well so I'm gonna have to go somewhere else.

@Sammyfab: thank you! Like, just at the customer service? Haha I'm hopeless.

@.twist.: No returns!! I really like the navy top. Do you have any colored cords? I love navy and a mint green together. Or khaki color pants for work. The shirt with the skull is cute, I actually like it with the black pants you're wearing, but it would look good with jeans, too.

Target jeans don't fit me either, they're too big and long. Have you tried LOFT petite? It's wear I get all my pants. Love their skinny cords and colored skinnies!!!

@IRunForFun: haha I am scared of coloured pants. They look so cute on other people but im just so unsure about them on myself! I can totally see how mint green would look nice with the navy though, great colour match. I also have no idea what loft is! American? We may not have one. Wah.

@.twist.: Ann Taylor Loft, it might be a US thing, but you can order online. I'd post a link but I'm posting from my phone while DH badgers me to pay attention to a movie.

ETA: I'm pretty sure we're almost exactly the same size and I swear you would look great in colored skinnies!!

@.twist.: Love it all!!! You could do the scull top (love that zipper in the back!) with jeans or put a relaxed black blazer over it for work! The navy top you could do with dress pant material khakis (not cotton material but like that other material?). And you can never go wrong with solid tees and cardigans! Do you have an Old Navy, Forever21 or H&M near you? I'm no help on jeans. I have such a hard time finding them!!

Oh I may have to check out Target for that skull top!

Definitely colored pants, v-neck shirts, colored accessories, cardigans, etc. I love jeans from American Eagle. They have a great fit and just enough stretch so they maintain their shape and are really comfortable.

@LindsayInNY: yay! I have all 3 stores in my city, somewhere. Haha I have had such a hard time in H&M, but maybe I should give it another shot?!

@Mrs.Panda: I used to buy all my jeans at American eagle, then I started wearing skinnies and they didn't do skinnies, do they do them now?

@fancyfunction: I hope you can find it, I don't know if the Canadian vs American stores carry the same products! And when I saw it on the rack I was like "blah! ...... Dammit, try shit on before you diss it, girl,," haha

@Leialou: thanks! I feel like the trip was successful. Even though the top two shirts are a bit out of my comfort zone, I do like them.

@.twist.: Yes! They do skinnies and I think they just started "super" skinnies? Not sure, I'm not a skinny jean kinda girl haha. But I know they have them because I was really annoyed that that's all I could find on one trip!

  21. .twist.

    pineapple / 12802 posts

@Mrs.Panda: awesome! Boo, though, that that was all you could find!

@.twist.: I love everything you bought! The navy top is actually my favourite. I'd pair it with coloured or patterned skinnies.

If you go to the Southcentre website and click on Style Concierge, there's information to book a free consult. I was also going to offer to be your shopping buddy but I wasn't sure if that was too forward.

@Sammyfab: hey! That could be so much fun, I'm going to wall you. I have to admit though, I'm a terrible shopper when with people. I always feel bad for taking up too much time so I just throw in the towel and pretend I can't find anything. Haha

@.twist.: I came back to say I'm thinking the black cardigan with white polka dots would look awesome with red ankle-length pants and black flats! I love red pants, they're fun!

@IRunForFun: omg, all you girls talking about coloured pants is making me sweat. Haha I don't know if i can pull that off!

@.twist.: Old Navy has a lot of colored skinny jeans! They don't fit me well but everyone else seems to like them! H&M is hit or miss sometimes. Forever 21 was always my college go-to for fashionable things that will probably be out of style in a couple seasons. They have super super cheap skinny jeans though! Lots of good staples like there solid tanks.

@.twist.: I am scared of color too, I generally stick to neutrals. But colored pants are easier than you think! I tried them when I was pregnant and now I love them, especially cords. The bright color isn't near your face, so it doesn't feel so overwhelming. And you can wear a neutral on top. I have yellow matchstick cords from jcrew outlet that I love.

@.twist.: Sorry I'm so late! I'm not on as much at night. I love that navy shirt! And girl you have such a good figure, you can rock ANYTHING! And I love that you picked out a skull tshirt to reflect your inner punk.

I don't really have color pants either, I think that's a big next step haha. Get used to the patterns and color tops first!

I like everything you bought! I don't have a lot of fashion rules, but I do kind of abide by dark top with light bottoms, light top with dark bottoms or all dark. I don't look good in head to toe light colors. I also don't do colored pants in the winter, only in the summer, and they're safe colors, like cobalt blue, kelly green, maybe orange.

I think you should look for a blazer that's made out of sweatshirt material or ponte knit, I am pretty sure place like Target or the Gap have them. You could do that over the skull tee with the sleeves pushed up.

I'd do white with the navy top, but that's because I do a lot of navy in the spring and summer, not so much in the winter. I'd still keep it though, for spring!

I totally get it, I feel the same way. My sister and husband always make fun of me because anytime I try on anything new I'm like "does it come in black...?" Lol I've definitely had the most luck finding cool cardigans to put over my tank tops because I too am very much a jeans and tank top or tee person.
