I'm at work and suddenly I have a blurry spot in the center of my vision. It moves around when I look around. It's like someone put a drop of water on whatever it is I'm looking at.
How worried should I be? I'm 12 weeks pregnant and maybe didn't have enough water this morning..... could this be some sort of visual migrane? something worse to worry about? Anyone have this before??

Yes! I had a blurry/milky spot and milky vision for a period of time while pregnant with my first pregnancy. It was really bizarre and kind of scary but it went away on its own

@math.nerd: I had visual migraines with both of my pregnancies I even outed myself at work with #2 by saying in a meeting “ah sh*t I can’t see again.” I had migraines during puberty with visual components so it wasn’t too surprising. My OB had me drink caffeine and sugar to try to prevent a real migraine from coming on. Fortunately none of them became full blown migraines. It usually lasted 30 min to an hour.
Bright lights triggered me so I avoided camera flashes and sun reflections in my rear view mirror like a vampire.

Sounds like a migraine to me. See if you can pinpoint a trigger or if it’s just random. An eye specialist I saw said exercise triggered his. I have only had it happen twice and once was when I woke up in the morning so I don’t know what triggered it.

I had one episode where the whole left side of my vision started looking like I was looking through a rainy window. This was at the end of my third pregnancy and I have a history of pre-e so they had me come in to L&D and kept me for a few hours. Had a neurologist see me after all the pre-e stuff came back negative. He thought it was migraine related (although definitely unlike any I've ever had!).

I can’t speak to the migraine aspect, but that sounds like something that happened to my husband due to high blood pressure. He found out he had a burst blood vessel behind his eye. It got better after his bp was under control.

Thanks all! It went away after about 20 minutes. Maybe I didn't drink enough water? I'm working long hours looking at a computer screen too with lots of detailed excel spreadsheets (I'm a CPA and it's that time of year!), so maybe that 'helped' too.
I'll keep my eye on it (ha ha, no pun intended) and maybe get my blood pressure checked sooner rather than later. Thanks again!

@math.nerd: I had this when I had a migraine but no headache. But I had had migraines before pregnancy too. I think you could still have a first time migraine in pregnancy though.

@math.nerd: i have this occasionally. It started during pregnancy and I still get it sometimes after. My brother has a swollen retinal nerve, or something like that I can't remember exactly what it is, it's apparently nothing horrible though. It can be hereditary so I just assumed I have the same and pregnancy blood volume made mine appear. My ob wasn't concerned when I mentioned it to her
I'd mention it to your ob but pregnancy does weird things so I wouldn't be too concerned
