My husband and I will be in NYC for 4 days this weekend for our 5-year anniversary. We've never been at Christmas and are very excited! Does anyone have any suggestions for can't-miss places to go, restaurants, bars, etc? We've got tickets to the Christmas Spectacular and are already planning on seeing the decorations in midtown (of course), and Dyker Heights in Brooklyn. Thanks!

Tried and true restaurant suggestions : Cafe Presidente, Alta, The Smith, Cacio e Pepe, and Mermaid Inn.
Things to do outside: Rockefeller Plaza and the Saks windows, the Highline, walk Brooklyn Bridge, Bryant Park ice skating and craft fair.
Things to do inside: The New Museum has an amazing new video installation, Met Costume Institute, Museum of Natural History, Columbus Circle (has craft fair right outside corner of Central Park).

If you're in Brooklyn during the weekend, go to the indoor Smorgasburg! Bryant Park is cute too. Food wise, man, it really depends what you're looking for and how much you want to spend... There's just so many options!

Po in the village would make an awesome anniversary meal. It's tiny, intimate, and the most amazing food; we splurged on the tasting menu once.
I second Bryant Park and the store display windows.

There are lots of great restaurants near the spectacular. I actually have a huge list since one of my moms clients was staying near there and asked for near by dining options. I'll wall it to you since it's obnoxiously long.
But if you guys love steak, go to del friscos. It's practically across from radio city and is just amazeballs steak. Known for their ribeyes! Of course fish options if either of you doesn't love steak.
But yeah, I'll wall you a good 10-15 options for food in various settings and price ranges! Just shared with another Bee on the boards

Take a walk on the High Line then peruse the shops at Chelsea Market. There's also a Christmas market in Union Square.
Intimate Italian recs - Caffe Buon Gusto and Zucchero e Pomodori, both on the Upper East Side.

Don't miss the store window displays, they're out of this world. So extravagant! I had a lot of fun when we went ice skating on Central Park one year around the holidays, but of course there's a line. NYC is the best this time of year.
