We have some for the kids for xmas. I've played with some in the stores. Seems like toys are simple sand toys, rake, shovel, castle molds, etc. It's usually played with in a container. There are special square containers with sides that usually come with it to keep it contained. It's pretty cool stuff! I reeeeally like it and enjoy playing with the stuff, myself.

I got ours at Michaels, they sell a box to keep it in, it's like a glorified pencil case, really.
It's not the hit I thought it would be, I'll be honest. My son is more into playdough because he likes the tools (dough rollers, extruders, etc).

it's sand you can mold. so a cross between play doh and sand. charlie and olive love it but make such a mess! small pieces always end up on the floor.
in the wintertime we stock up on indoor sensory activities like that.

We got some as a gift. I think it's the same as kinetic sand... I think it's just called magic sand though. It comes with a little plastic box thing that you play with it in, and a few toys (rollers, cookie cutter type things) and a background. It's pretty fun and therapeutic to play with for adults actually!

@Mamaof2: is moon sand like cloud dough? I made cloud dough once and my husband made me promise I would never, ever do that again. What a mess!!

@mediagirl: yes it is! I hated it at first but I love how it ever dries out and if it falls on the floor I just vacuum it up!

I got some at target. I think it's so cool! I put it in a tray (something that a melissa and doug toy or puzzle came in) and he pushes trucks through it or dumps it in cups. It does get on the floor, but vacuums easily.

I put it in a big glad wear container and we just use dollar store sand toys and trucks with it. Both kids can play with it for over an hour! They love it more than play dough.
ETA: I think ours is moon sand actually but I thought they were the same!
