Cornbread just came out of the oven. Turkey giblets are on the stove. I will make the mushroom giblets gravy today and freshen up with pan drippings tomorrow. I am also making the cranberry cinnamon orange relish today. Then I have to get the booze!

I cooked the make ahead stuff Mon/Tues-
Pioneer woman mashed potatoes
Pita chips
Miso glaze for Brussels sprouts
Bagna Cauda dip for crudités
Applesauce
Bought all the cheese/antipasto yesterday.
Today I have to buy vegetables at the farmers market for crudités, and get out all the serving dishes, then set the table tonight.
Tomorrow I have some small things to do but have a whole schedule of when stuff goes in the oven.

I’m going to make some food today that can be baked tomorrow- sweet potato casserole, gravy, butternut squash spread for an app. Going to set the table and chop veggies for tomorrow. Clean out the fridge. And DH is going to spatchcock the turkey to prep it for grilling tomorrow!
But first the gym this morning (mostly to let the kids run around at the gym child care!)

Today LO and I will make 2 pumpkin pies and 2 apple pies and maybe another dessert.
Then I'll prep the turkey (dry brine), make cornbread for stuffing, maybe make the stuffing prep the veggies for cooking tomorrow and make the cranberry relish.

Prepping all that I can today! Got the booze yesterday to beat the crowds today. I'm super excited!

I have to work today but when I get home I'm making Strawberry Pretzel Salad and Pumpkin Cheesecake since they both need to chill over night. Tomorrow I'm making Green Bean Casserole and Apple Pie.

First, @Mrs. Lemon-Lime:, I really like your countertop/backsplash combo!
So I'm 35w today. We normally drive 8 hrs to be with family for the holidays, but that's a no this year. They came down to us two weeks ago and we had our dinner early. It was really nice, but I'm a little homesick ahead of the actual holiday. But I did just make a pie crust from scratch for the first time in my life. His mom and I made apple pie together while they were here, but we wanted his family's pumpkin pie so his mom shared the recipe and here goes nothing!

We go to MIL's and I"m in charge of a fruit tray and vegetable tray. I'll probably buy all the elements and put it together myself to make sure we have all our favorites. And I'm also baking sugar cookies for the kids to decorate. That's it!

Yesterday I made the cranberry sauce. Today I have to make a couple pies and pack our overnight bags. Rest of the cooking will be done tomorrow when we go to our friends' house.

Tonight I have to make the macaroni and cheese casserole, the stuffing/dressing, the pumpkin pie, and the cranberries. And brine the turkey.
Tomorrow, I have to put the turkey in to cook, make the spicy sweet potatoes and cheesy mashed potatoes, the appetizer, and then the garlic green beans. In that order, basically. I'm using store bought rolls, so I don't have to worry about that. I think a friend is bringing a second dessert.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I’m in line at the grocery store pre-work getting the last of my produce.

I made low-carb desserts and sides for myself (I'm currently on a low carb diet) and everyone is having my sugar-free cranberry sauce because you really can't tell the difference at all (DH confirms).
I prepped the stuffing, sweet potatoes, and mashed potatoes in advance, so they just need to go in the oven. I have a pumpkin pie and apple berry sour cream pie in the freezer that I bought for my kid's school fundraiser from this local farm/bakery, so I will pop those in the oven tonight. I also have to make a pecan pie for my mother because she only eats my pecan pie. We bought a pre-brined turkey, so that's ready. Tomorrow I need to make bacon-y green beans and thaw the dough for hot rolls.
grapefruit / 4278 posts
I still need to get to the store and get a few last ingredients for my sweet potato casserole. Then I'll put that together tonight after the kids are in bed. We're not hosting this year, so I've got it pretty easy.

@Corduroy: my early morning started at Walmart. My mom is making apple pie when she arrives, but I had to get a pie plate and rolling pin!
@starchild: thank you! I tell you, carry a baby and family secrets (babies) open up. Lol
@gingerbebe: ok, so based on what you’re accomplishing I bet I can get more done today.

My list:
Marmalade
Stuffing prep (sauté aromatics, assemble stuffings)
Make 3 pumpkin, one dairy free apple pie
Make herb butter
Dry brine turkeys
Make cranberry sauce.
Ugh I’m so mad because I need sugar! I didn’t think about how the marmalade needs a ton of sugar so I’m like 3 cups short! It’s upsetting but ultimately nbd. I’m just tired and had a rough night with the baby.

@lioneyes: Pioneer woman mashed potatoes are seriously the best things on the planet. I made them the last 2 years and it made up 75% of my plate. And then I had more.
cherry / 236 posts
Made the cranberry sauce yesterday and prepped all the veggies. That didn't bring on labor, so today I'm pre-cooking the stuffing mixings and making my sauces. If that doesn't bring on labor, then tomorrow morning I'll pop the potatoes in the crock pot and the turkey in the oven at around 1p. Probably make my cheese plate then, since you all know labor's going to start about 5 minutes after that...
40+1 and so completely done.

I'm 8 months pregnant so even though we're hosting 10 adults + 2 kids, I'm not doing much MIL is doing the turkey, friends are bringing a million sides. I plan to do a chocolate pecan pie today, and tomorrow I'll do brussels and mashed potatoes.
I may be physically miserable all the time but at least I can claim some special privileges!
persimmon / 1286 posts
@SweetiePie: and you can make them ahead!!! i always think 5 lbs will be enough for leftovers and then i'm upset when they all get eaten.

I made my ginger snap pie crust last night. I'm at work today, but later tonight I'll finish the pumpkin pie, make cranberry sauce and assemble the stuffing.
Dh will take over the kitchen tomorrow to make gumbo and mac and cheese. My Fil will bring a turkey and no idea what my sil is bringing.

We are going to Las Vegas on our 27 wk babymoon with our 22m toddler.... last hurrah as a family of 3, hopefully! Celebrating DHs 30th bday too. DH and I don't like most Thanksgiving food sooooo we are excited for our trip! On the road now.

Wow - you ladies are super moms!
I've never hosted (my mom does) and she doesn't even let me bring anything!
Happy Thanksgiving, ladies!

@ValentineMommy: Yeah I’m reading along just because I’m impressed! We’re going to a restaurant tomorrow

@newlypregnantlady: the worst!! I’m sorry. I swear, I always run out of butter on Thanksgiving, so this year I made sure I had a ton in my fridge Hopefully I’ll have some leftover for Christmas cookies after Thanksgiving.

Love seeing what everyone is doing and making!
We dry-brined the turkey on Monday, and we’ll rinse it off tonight to let it dry out in the fridge.
I made cranberry sauce and pumpkin pies today, and will make the stuffing tonight so it’s ready for baking tomorrow.
Tomorrow, just need to do the turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy. And I guess throw all the cheese, sausage, and crackers on a plate for apps.
Relatives are bringing artichoke dip, green bean casserole, apple pie, and some kind of chocolate pie or dessert. My MIL brought the wine, and my husband just restocked our booze cart, so he’s in charge of drinks since I’m pregnant.
I’m not setting the table ahead of time, since my toddler would just mess it all up before dinner anyway, so I’ll be doing that tomorrow. Or maybe making my MIL do that
nectarine / 2210 posts
@theotherstark: speaking of forgetting things, it looks like I won't be making stuffing tonight because we forgot to buy oysters. It looks like Whole Foods opens at 8 tomorrow so I might be headed there first thing.

This is the first year since we got married 6 years ago that we aren't doing thanksgiving at home. Every year I make basically everything on my own, this year we are going to my husband's aunt and uncles house and we only have to bring an appetizer... I feel so lost
eggplant / 11716 posts
I'm so behind already!!! All I have done is the cranberries and the cornbread stuffing. I still need to make pumpkin pie and macaroni and cheese casserole tonight...and start the turkey brine.
And then I need to do everything else tomorrow morning. Augh. As soon as the kids are in bed, I need to drink coffee and get motivated to cube some bread for the Mac n cheese topping. And I have to hand grate an enormous amount of cheese.

@cyndistar3: We don’t live near family and we’ve always done Thanksgiving on our own too, so I’m used to making everything. It sounds wonderful to bring only one thing!
persimmon / 1005 posts
I made cranberry sauce, baked and glazed a pound cake, and put frozen Parker house rolls in the fridge to thaw. Oh and also rinsed and dried the turkey breast and it’s in the fridge drying out. Tomorrow I’m doing ham, mashed potatoes, and peas, baking the rolls, and DH is frying the turkey breast.

We are having Thanksgiving with 30+ guests (not at our home, thank goodness!) - so I only made a few dishes to contribute, but had to make big quantities! Today I made two giant pans of cornbread (one regular honey cornbread and one jalapeno cheddar cornbread), and a double batch of spinach & artichoke dip. My DDs helped me, and it was surprisingly stress-free!
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Love your cornbread in the skillet. It looks much more festive than my cornbread in throw-away tin containers (we're going to a relative's home, and I didn't want to have to worry about bringing my dishes home).

Update: pies are done. Butternut squash/sweet potatoes and stuffing are done. Omg I'm tired.

Four of my guests just cancelled. We’re down to 7 adults. I’m going to have a lot of extra food.

@yoursilverlining: those look great!
@Corduroy: we're having small thanksgiving this year and MIL texted Dh the whole list of the menu (it's at our house but we're only in charge of two things) and we're gonna have a lot too... and we knew it would be just a few of us.) oops.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: prepping my two year old for a day of festivities (hotel naps are the best naps )
eggplant / 11716 posts
Turkey is in the oven, and all I have left to make is green beans (no casserole just sautéed with garlic), spicy sweet potatoes, and the gravy after the turkey is done. Almost done and we're not doing thanksgiving until tonight so I'll be able to relax the rest of the day.
nectarine / 2821 posts
@Anagram: looks great!
@wrkbrk: snuggle away! I think we have to skip nap today, wish me the best!
@gingerbebe: @yoursilverlining: beautiful pies!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! so thankful for HB
