I am trapped in our rocker, and I don't care. This kid would not sleep, and I am not moving until I am sure she is out!
What have you done in the name of sleep?

Haha, I remember the days of not moving a muscle in fear. I hope she falls asleep soon!

I am currently curled up next to her waiting until she's deeply asleep to move her. I now nurse her lying down on a blanket on my bed, once she's out I move her WITH the blanket underneath to the crib.

@swedishfish: thanks! Generally, I am not like this, but after an hour of screaming, I'm not taking any chances!

As a result of no-eating thursday it was also no-napping thursday so when fia fell asleep on the way home from the doc appt in the car, i drove up and down and up and down the main road near our home so that she would stay asleep...... lol

Is it bad that none if these things seem that crazy? I have almost peed my pants waiting for her to wake up while I was holding her or had her outside in the stroller, or in the car... In her bad bad napping days, I'd literally rather pee my pants than wake her. (Never did, thank god).

@LovelyPlum: I've stayed in the same spot on the couch for HOURS while she napped (when she was really little). I've slept sitting up in bed, I've sat in the car for an hour, I've sat in the garage when she fell asleep in the stroller.
In the name of sleep...nothing's crazy!

DH slept on the couch last night so we could all get some sleep! (He started snoring so loudly it wakes DD and I!)

I lie down with her every nap time so she will go to sleep and stay that way until she wakes up. My sisters think I'm crazy, I don't care. I may be crazy but she sleeps

@LovelyPlum: haha I was just there too. It took an hour and I put her down and she started crying. HATE when that happens!!!

@travelgirl1: I do the same! I lay down and nurse her for 80% of her naps and stay laying with her since she's on the bed and still not rolling super great. It's a nice excuse for relaxing

Just paced back and forth in her small room, holding DD vertically because she refused to let me sit in the glider or hold her laying down. For 25 min. Put her down and started crying again. Pick up and repeat. Took an hour and 45 min to get her back to sleep. Is there a 6 month sleep regression!? Cause her sleep has been CRAP lately.

It makes me sick to think how much money I've spent on sleep shit...ahem...accoutrements. Let's see...
- Sleep sacks in every size, both in fleece and cotton...plus the swaddle kind
- Rock 'n Plays, the swing, bouncer, etc.
- Crib wedges
- White noise machine (and a replacement after the first burned out
- 3 Magic Merlin sleep suits at $35 a pop
- Blackout curtains
- A crib mattress topper for my finicky toddler
- Video monitors and cameras
- A portable A/C unit so their room would be tolerable in the summer
- ...oh and the portable space heater for the winter
Gulp.

So after she fell into a deep sleep, I put her down...and she spit herself awake. Finally conked around 11, up at 4, back down at 5, and still asleep. These kids keep us on our toes
I decided the craziest thing I've ever done happened about 2 months ago. I am a student , and I was trying to get to the library. She was not having it, though. So I sat in the parking lot in the passenger seat, hung the sleep sheep on the steering wheel, and made a nest of blankets on the drivers seat. We got about 2 hours of sleep and work done!

@travelgirl1: me too! For the first year she would only sleep on me- so being next to her feels like progress (?)

Oh man, we have literally not moved a muscle until she woke up. She did not do well with transfers and knew the INSTANT she wasn't in your arms. That's why I never go put her down for a nap without a bottle of water and my phone!

@travelgirl1: I'm next to my LO as she naps right now! I'm actually thinking abt taking a nap myself. Last night was a bit rough. It's worth it for her to get a good nap in!

One time my half hour napper was napping longer than half hour after I got out of the shower. I didn't want to ruin it. So I left the shower on. Then I blow dried my hair and he was still sleeping. I didn't want to ruin it. Left the blow dryer on. Lol! He had white noise on too. It was loud!

@LovelyPlum: I think there was a day recently when I held him for 6 hours straight. My bladder about died! One of the golden rules - never pick up the baby without going to the bathroom first because you don't know when you'll have the chance again! Keeping my fingers crossed that the Zantac kicks in soon and little miss (and mama!) gets some relief.

@spaniellove: gah! I would have died- or peed while holding her And thanks- we are 3 doses in and already seeing a difference!

My DD will go to sleep in the stroller, so I walk her twice a day for naps, and at bed time. Once she's out I can move her to the bed and nurse her laying down to resettle her. I often log 5+km a day! I long for the days when I wont have to leave the house to get her down!

The number of times I have kept driving even though I am busting for a pee...I have lost count

DS has decided he will NOT sleep in his crib, only on me/in our bed this whole week. Exhausting. So I'm currently lying in bed with him next to me. I have to pee SOO bad but I can't move! He can crawl so I can't chance him waking up! Ahhh!
