LO outgrew her daycare boots. I remember reading a few sites that recommend buying 10-15mm bigger for toddler boots. Out of curiosity, how much bigger do you buy for your toddler? How old is your LO?
10-15mm = .39" to .59" (roughly 1 to 1.5 US sizes bigger)

No, I usually buy her normal size, however I will go up a size if they feel snug. But she's such a clutz I don't want extra room at the toe to cause her to fall more than she already does!

We received big enough hand me down boots that should last him this winter. I think our last set were hand me down too. I stick with current size if I can.

Yes... I once had Wagon Jr. in a pair of hand me down boots that I thought were a size 6 when he was a 5. Turns out I was reading it upside down and they were a 9! He never tripped! The ankles had straps to hold them on securely. So now I always go a size or two bigger.

I usually buy every other EU size (1.5 US sizes bigger), but I do it early in the year, so it's an approximation. Her feet has grown a lot since summer and this winter's boots turns out to be just the right size (tight with thick socks).
However, it feels like skipping a size now seems so big - which makes no sense, since this isn't the first time she's worn big boots. I guess I just can't get over how big she's gotten

I bought DS boots one size up last year and he can still wear them this year. I'm happy that I don't have to invest again this year.

No, but she stays in each size a while so boots last a season+.
I've tried sized up boots on LO and even with thick socks on, she couldn't walk very well in them.

@lamariniere: For the first time ever, I'm hesitant to buy big because I have a feeling she'll outgrow them anyway. I can not believe how big she's gotten!

So far about 1 size big. Rain boots are about 1.5 sizes big - hoping she can wear them for 2 years!

@SugarplumsMom: I feel like my son's feet grow very slowly. He can stay in one size for a really long time. His last pair of sneakers lasted a year, and were actually falling apart before he grew out of them.
@shopaholic: I also bought rain boots about 1.5 sizes too big and we are getting our second year of wear out of them!

it doesn't get too cold here, so I bought my daughter bobux boots last year. the first pair i bought one size big (28EU) and then realised that they run larger and bought one size down. love them though, so cute and great quality.

I bought her Uggs in a size too big and they were fine for her to walk in. I bought her Hatley rain boots, which apparently run huge, and ended up being about 1.5 sizes too big (just like @shopaholic: said) and she couldn't walk in them until she grew into them a bit. So I think a half size to 1 whole size is ok for boots but anything more might affect their walking:)

For snow boots, I buy bigger. I put on thick socks and if they're wearing it in snow, it's not like they can move very quickly anyways. So I buy a size larger. Maybe even 1.5 larger if she's in between sizes.
