Our girl is mostly trained (diaper only at night) about once per week she is painfully red/irritated. I suspect it's coming from over wiping or from not wiping while at school. Since she still wears a night time diaper, we put on diaper cream at night when it's bad and it's resolved by morning. I'm not sure how to stop this from occurring. Has anyone been through this? What did you do?

Is it possible she's not wiping front to back? Can you mention to her teachers and make sure they help her wipe?

I would make sure she is wiping well. We have mentioned it to her teachers whenever she's had redness.

We have had this issues since potty training in the last few weeks. ped suspected it was from the one bubble bath she ever had, but I think that wiping is not happening as well as when she was in diapers. I bought flushable wet wipes and that helps a lot.

LO was complaining today about pain and grabbing her crotch. Today was first say at daycare potty training. Will have to make sure they are helping her wipe.
@bpcmarj: which ones did you get? We can't just use regular wipes?

@locavore_mama: regular wipes aren't flushable. Pampers, Huggies and store brand all make "toddler wipes" that are flushable.

LO was very red and tender a couple of days ago. I asked her if she wipes at daycare and her reply was no. We make sure she does at home. And I know the toilet paper isn't as soft at daycare. I've told her that she needs to make sure she wipes EVERY time she uses the bathroom.

@MamaG: lol I know. I'm just wondering why I can't just use regular wipes and throw them in the trash?

@locavore_mama: you can use regular ones and throw away, but we have foiund it easier to use the flushable ones when she is on the potty. I usually give her one good wipe down with one mid-day, too. Especially if it's not a bath day.
