We transition DS (almost 3 years old) to a big boy bed (aka twin bed) about 1.5 months ago. Things have been touch and go but for the most part, he has been sleeping well there at night with minimal resistance.

However, naps during the daytime are SO SHORT!! He automatically wakes up at the 45 minute mark and refuses to go back to sleep, even if he wakes up with bags under his eyes. (previously in his crib, he would regularly give me 1.5 hour naps...not the longest but still decent).

Short of telling him over and over to lay back down (I have an infant to care for as well), i'm at a loss.

Should I just put a lock on his door (the flimsy one that Mr. Bee mentioned http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014WN86Q/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=hellobee-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0014WN86Q) and try to instill that he is to stay in his bed until mommy comes to get him, continue the way we are and just pray that he takes a longer nap eventually, or just get him at the 45 min mark?

I guess I just want a little break in the middle of the day and between my two sons, I'm lucky if it is 25 minutes, and only if they are napping around the same time...

*Sigh* Any pointers/tips/tricks?? Would LOVE to hear what others moms of resistant-napping toddlers do!
