Anyone with experience? How big of a problem is this going to be when I call a plumber tomorrow? Ughhhh

Someone in my house flushed a plastic lid, about 3 inches in diameter. The plumber got it out with a snake. I didnāt know until they found it, but it was causing the toilet to back up into the tub (a problem I had several times). Iād call them today if you can to avoid things building up behind it if you can. Iām sorry, if sucks.

Are you sure it's flushed? All of my hot wheels incidents involved the car hiding just outside of view. Kind of gross to get out, but a plumber didn't need to come.
If it is flushed, chances are it didn't get past the trap and a plumber will be able to get it out without any trouble.

Well I didnāt see him actually flush it but he had it in his hand and then said āUh oh, truck!ā And pointed down the toilet. And then told my husband the same thing, plus we canāt find it. DH stuck his hand down and couldnāt feel it. Hopefully itās a relatively easy fix!

COAT HANGER! This happened when we lived in our apartment. It didn't make it that far that I was able to reach it with a wire hanger.

My Dad is a plumber and told me if I ever think something has been flushed definitely get the drain snaked ASAP because if a kid is a āflusherā he usually finds WAY more stuff down that drain than you would have ever guessed.

DS1 still talks about the toothbrush he flushed. Thankfully I already had a plumber scheduled to come for something else a day or two later. He said that since we didn't have any issues flushing, the toothbrush actually made it all the way through. I mean it's been a few years and no issues. Hopefully you'll be just as lucky!

@MsMini: Good to know! I guess weāll have to keep bathroom doors closed from now on.

@Mommy Finger: The plumber said it must have gone all the way out, he didnāt find anything. Weāll see if any issues develop!
