I know this is a total first world question to ask but I'm going to anyways. .. .:)

DS1 will be 4 in November and we told him that we would be getting him a new bed for his birthday. He's currently in the toddler bed that his crib turned into. DH and I keep going back and forth about whether to get him a twin bed or a full size.

DH says full b/c he had a bigger bed growing up and he'll have this bed for a long time. Plus, DS's crib can turn into a full if we buy the rails. He feels like for any future sleepovers, they will all want to sleep in the basement. Keep in mind that our basement is only partially finished and sort of scary at the moment.

I say a twin is sufficient as I ultimately would like it to be like a day bed where it can be pushed against the wall so it doesn't take up too much space in his room. Plus we can get a trundle bed for future cousin sleepovers when my BIL and SIL stay with us. There's also no reason why he couldn't have a twin bed for a long time either. I grew up with a twin daybed and it was just fine.

I know there really is no right or wrong answer here but does anyone else feel strongly either way?
