My daughter will be one this week (great timing!), and has been battling a moderate-high fever for the past three days. When dosed with Tylenol, we're able to bring it down for a while, but have been unable to break 100.3. Once the medicine wears off, her temp quickly spikes, again. Her fever reached 103, yesterday, so we took her in to Urgent Care. She tested negative for strep and a UTI, and the doctor saw no sign of an ear infection. She does not have a rash/bumps, so HFM and roseola don't seem to be the cause, at this point.

While she's been a little lethargic and uninterested in eating and drinking her usual amount, she seems to be in fair spirits, and is still sleeping well. She hasn't been coughing, sneezing, vomiting, or displaying other common cold/flu symptoms.

If she's still fighting a fever tomorrow, her ped would like her to come in for second examination. He might do some blood work, as well. I'm admittedly a little puzzled and am starting to worry, a tad.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Did you opt for further testing, or just ride it out? Ever determine the cause of fever?

Thanks!
