What's the deal with coupons you can get when you change your address with the post office? I remember someone saying they get the home depot one whenever they need it, and my sister got a 10% off your entire purchase at Pottery Barn recently when she changed her address. Dh did the address change so I didn't see it but how do I get these?? We have a bunch of stuff we need to buy!

If I remember correctly, they will get mailed to your new address.

Our post office has a stack of the "new address" envelopes on the counter by the mailing boxes. We just picked up one of the envelopes and it had tons of coupons inside. It also has the form to complete to change our address.

Usually on the bottom of the change of address form, it will state catalogs you want to forward to your new address. When I did that, I got 10% off Pottery Barn (1 coupon with PBK and also PB Teen), Crate and Barrel and a lot of random coupons I didn't use.

It might have been me that mentioned going to pick up a packet whenever I needed to buy something at home depot... but they changed the packet! It's pretty worthless now. They never had PB or CB in there, that is something PB/CB mails to you on their own. The packet used to have a Lowes 10% off that you could use at HD, but now it has a link to a site and a code to enter to print out your coupon. You can use it at Lowes of course, but HD doesn't accept printed coupons now. Well, at least the ones here dont, but you can still try. But you dont need the packet for that, you can just go to http://www.lowes.com/moving

Hmm I'm hoping for the PB and PBK. Will still walk over to the post office and cross my fingers. Lowes or home depot don't need so much.

@Foodnerd81: you can always set up a registry at pbk. You can use the 10% off for 6 mo. after the registry date.

Just in case anyone finds this later looking for the same question-- I just did the change of address form online and at the very end, you have the option to go to another site (mymove) to forward your catalogs, where you can select which catalogs you want to forward. Pottery Barn, West Elm, Crate and barrel, and William Sonoma are all options and come with 10% coupons. So, there you go!
I also walked over to the post office and they had nothing. I didn't see anything at the office or online about Home Depot or Lowe's, but doesn't matter to me since i don't need anything there.@LaineysMom: I want nursery furniture from PBK, so I don't think I want to wait for the registry completion, unless I just make the date a few months early. I'm considering it (10% is a lot when you are talking about a crib and dresser there!)

@Foodnerd81: have DH or your mom make a fake registry. That's what I did for our crib (made a real one later). But I'm shady like that. Haha.
