DH and FIL have melon allergies, it makes their mouth itchy and swell, I don't know if it's to the point of anaphylaxis because they don't eat it. MIL also is allergic to melons, but it causes just a mildly itchy mouth (as of now), she sometimes eats melon but just drinks a ton of water / soda with it (*eye roll*).

LO LOVES melons. When we initially tried them out, he did fine (like, Oct/Nov). In Dec/Jan, he went through a period of lots of diaper rash, and we determined it was the acidity of melon and citrus fruits - he had been eating a LOT of those, like at least 1 serving daily. He threw up here and there, but seemingly no pattern, we thought he had a hard time figuring out when to stop eating or he had a sensitive gag reflex as we were introducing much more solid foods.

He ate melon off and on for the past 6 months and we didn't notice anything. He is now 19 months. He eats melon about 1-3x a week, moreso this past summer bc it was in season.

The last 3-4 times he has eaten melons in the past month, he has thrown up. 2-3 of those times were within an hour of eating it, on Sunday night it was 8 hours after eating - it was in the middle of the night after 15 minutes of mild crying. Each of these times were also associated with recently drinking milk. I think milk + melon is yucky but he loves both.

Does this sound like a food allergy or am I seeing a connection where there isn't one?
