We woke every 3 hrs until after we got the go ahead at their 2 month appt and they had finally gotten above birth weight and started gaining. It sucked! My husband is convinced that's why they wake up every two hours all night long now at 9 months. That said, I think 3 oz is on the low end for a week. My ped wanted .5 oz per day at minimum. I'd probably let her sleep as long as she wants to tonight and when you call say "she slept x hours in a row - is that ok?" When we got the ok to go longer than 3 hrs our ped was ok with up to 5 hrs but not longer. Ours was a pretty extreme case of small babies, slow weight gain though!

LO2 was a smaller baby too. I think our pediatrician wanted her to gain 4-7 oz per week for the first month. I woke her every 4 hours until she was over 8lbs and fed her at least every 3 hours during the day.

I woke to feed every 3 hours for 2 weeks then every 4 hours until 1 mo and then I stopped waking to feed.

I never woke/wake to feed. B was a slow gainer and I didn't wake her, she let me know when she wanted to eat. G is a tank and on Monday when she was 5 days old was 5 oz past her birth weight (she's at 6 pounds 7 oz now.) Dr said no need to wake her as she's past birth weight. As long as she's past birth weight I wouldn't worry about it, but that's me. I mean, if she was going like 7 hours without waking, then yeah, but an extra hour or so wouldn't bother me at all.

My pedi told is to wake to feed during the day- but let them sleep at night. They will wake when they are hungry and will let you know they are! (Although DD was over her birthweight by her 1 week appt and we didn't have to go back till her month because she was gaining well)

I only woke them up to feed every 3 hours during the day. Before he hit his birth weight, I woke to feed ever 5 hours overnight. But once he hit that, I didn't wake overnight.
