@thestairs: I wouldn't rule out a therapist NOT from your culture. Although I understand our culture presents some unique family dynamics/issues; ALL families have similar issues and I think once the therapist understands your history and current situation, she might be able to help just as much as a Vietnamese therapist. Good luck!!

Me and my husband we went to our OB appointment yesterday Thursday. My OB she Chinese like me so we speak Chinese to each others. It a large practice office, there more than one OBs in there, most are American OBs that speak English, but there Hispanic OBs that speak Spanish, and my OB speak Chinese.
She has ultrasounds right in her office so she do one for me, and confirm how far along I am.
And I'm worry of the result. I cried yesterday when we got to the car on our way drive home, and I cried again last night. I'm scare and worry of the result of my OB visit.

I know the BCP mess it up since I miss a pill last month in May, which I just don't get it because I swear I didn't see I throw it back up when I vomit. And I thought your stomach digest it after you swallow it, so how can it counts that I miss one pill? I just don't get it.
And even if it counts as I miss one pill, I just didn't think one pill can effect the whole pack of pills. I didn't know if I ovulate in the middle of May, or the end of May. But I ovulated and got pregnant.

Well, I'm earlier than I thought, because after I see my OB and ultrasound yesterday.
My OB said my conception date was took place in the weekend of May 27-28, so that is the last week of May.
So I conceived in the end of May, not the middle of May.
I must throw up the pill that day in May and it mess up my BCP pack and my body start to go back to normal ovulation, and I ovulated at the end of May and conceived.

I was told yesterday that I am 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant, that the gestational age age. So I'm at the end of my 6 weeks.
So a week ago when I post my pee thread, I was only 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. And at the time I already feel fatigue and extremely nausea, nausea and nausea all day. Maybe I nausea more early than other women? My OB said it all depends on the individual women body, there women that nausea more than others (like my case).

She said I'm due in mid-February, February 17 or 18. She put me down as Feb 17 due date. But she said baby can come few days earlier or few days later, she said rarely baby come exactly on the dot on the due date..

Everything is fine, the baby is in good size, fetus measuring good, growing at the rate it should, yolk sac, fetal pole, everything is fine. And baby is measure at 6 week and 5 days.
She able to see the tiny tiny heart flicker, me and my husband saw it too, the heart flickering, it just very small and weak? But it flicker, you know like it jumps, it flashes.
    .....
We saw the heart flicker, we saw the heart flutter, BUT there no heartbeat heard, she was not able to get the measurement of how fast the heart beating per minute. No heartbeat heard, just the heart flickering, the heart jumps, we all saw it. Maybe it very weak? She was not able to get the measure of how much it beating per minute.

I started to tear up because there no heartbeat heard. I was worried right there in her office and still worry.
She said everything looks good, baby is in good size, fetus is measure good, there the tiny flutter of heartbeats, I mean we all see it flickering. She said I'm still early, not all pregnancy can hear heartbeat at 6 weeks and 5 days (my case).
There pregnancy heartbeat wasn't heard to their far into their 7 weeks. Some not even heard till they into their 8 weeks.

She said it is okay, as she know I'm easily panic. She has me schedule to come back next week for another ultrasound, and next week I will be at the end of my 7 weeks and begin of my 8 weeks. She rest assured me we will heard hearbeat by then.

I am Not bleeding AT ALL. No crapming. So the baby is okay right? I have no bleeding at all. My baby should be okay right?

How come she not able to get the heartbeat measurement how many beat per minute? I'm very worry, does no heartbeat heard mean the baby is not growing anymore? I'm very scare. I cried again last night.
I don't know why my baby have no heartbeat heard. But just the flickering heart that we saw. How can the tiny heart flickering, but not able to detect the heartbeat per minute? I'm scare.

May I ask when did you hear your baby heartbeat? Is my baby going to be okay?
She already schedule me another ultrasound next week, where next week put me at the end of my 7 weeks, begin of 8 weeks, and she assured she can get heartbeat per minute by then. But I'm still worry and I'm scare.

@thestairs: If your OB said everything looks good then you need to trust her and try to enjoy this. You saw the fetal pole which is great!

Stress and worry and crying all the time is not great for the baby either! So try to calm down and enjoy this time. There are going to be SOOO many bumps and turns and things that dont go exactly by the book in this pregnancy and in raising a child. You cannot stress at every thing. Focus on what you can control at this time. You are in charge of growing that baby. So relax, get some rest, stay healthy, eat what you can etc.

Also, there is no link between bleeding and nausea for how a pregnancy turns out. Just because you aren't bleeding doesn't mean that something bad can't happen. It doesn't matter if you do/dont have nausea.

@thestairs: it can just depend on the machine she used too. My first OB measured hb but never shared it with us at that point, and my current OB just said there's a flicker and left it at that. I decided if she wasn't worried there was no point in me worrying and just tried not to think about it. My next appt was at 10w4d and we heard it then.

@thestairs: I'm happy for you and hope you are able to move past any issues you have with your mother and background to have a happy and healthy pregnancy and parenthood experience. EVERYONE worries about what-ifs in the first trimester and beyond. Just try your best to trust your doctor. There are no guarantees, but telling yourself that right now you are expecting a wonderful baby and trying to think positively is all you can do.

I've never heard a heartbeat before my 12 week scan, always just seen it flickering on the screen. That is nothing to worry about.

Thank you very much for your replies help give me advice and thank for your reassurance words.

I not sure if the word heard is the correctword, but what I mean is she wasn't able to measurement how many beats per minute.
You know how there ladies said their baby heartbeat was xxx per minute. But mine couldn't measurement that. I guess the heart is still too too tiny for it to pick up the sound.

We saw the tiny tiny heart flickering, it flickering and flickering, it jumps, so the heart is beating. We all saw it, the OB, me and my husband. For sure it flickering.
BUT there No heartbeats that the ultrasound can detect as in how many beats per minute.

Perhaps my OB knows I'm easily panic, so she tried to rest assured me. But she said everything is fine.
She said the heart flickering, everything is fine.
She said there pregnancy where women who was far into their 7 weeks, even into their 8 weeks in order to get the heartbeat per minute.

I mean the heart it flickering so the baby is doing good right? Or else how can it flickering?
She clearly saw the fetal pole, which she said is good. As some women their fetal pole don't show as much in 6 weeks 5 days like me, but mine show very clear.

Baby is in good size, fetus measuring good, growing at the rate it should, yolk sac, fetal pole, everything is fine. And baby is measure at 6 week and 5 days.
Tomorrow mark the end of my 6 weeks, I'll be at my 7 weeks.
    .......
She schedule me come back next week, and I'll be at the end of my 7 weeks, begin of my 8 weeks then. She said I will know how many beats per minute by then. She rest assured me.

I just don't know why she can't detect the heartbeat count per minute like other ladies. Maybe other ladies more far into their # of weeks than me. I really don't know, she just couldn't get me the number of heartbeat per minute.

I update next week see when I see her again next week. By then I be in my 8 weeks mark, and that is enough for her to detect a heartbeat heard she said, as I keep want to how know many beats per minute.
I update again next week when I see her for another ultrasound. I'm just worried.

@thestairs: there are no guarantees in this motherhood thing but *so far* it sounds about par for the course. Hang in there, eat as healthy as you can, try to remember to take your vitamins. And the rest is out of your and your doctor's hands at this point. Hope the week goes by quickly for you!

    Update on baby heartbeat

Today I'm 7 weeks and 6 days. And yesterday June 6th was the day for me to see my OB for my second prenatal appointment. My husband went with me, and me and my husband was able to hear hear our baby heartbeat yesterday, as well as see it flickering on the screen.
My baby's heartbeat is 130 beats per minute! My husband teared up, I also teared up, we both teared up. Our baby heart beat is 130 beats per minute. We feel very relieved, we heard our baby heartbeat! (We was worry last week that we only see it flickering and not able to hear it, but this week we able to hear it). We very thankful and happy.

Everything is good, baby is in good size, fetus is measure good, the baby is fine, baby growing rate is where should be--at the begin of my 8 weeks, everything is fine. We all see the baby heart flickering on the screen and also hear the hearbeat..
My OB said my baby heartbeat 130 beats per minute, it healthy heartbeat, 130 beats per minute is a healthy and normal heartbeat for a baby that at the end of 7 weeks/begin of 8 weeks (where I'm at in my pregnancy). She rest assured me, everything everything is fine.

She did scheduled me to see her 3 weeks from now, on July 27, as I will be 10 weeks and 5 days by then. My husband will go with me again in 3 weeks to my third prenatal appointment with her. I'm just so happy that I hear my baby heartbeat yesterday, as I was very worry since last time we only see the tiny heart flickering, not heard it, it was a relieved to hear my baby heartbeat yesterday.

Rehi, and belated Happy New Year 2018! to everyone.

Times sure fly by fast, it been 6.5 (almost 7 months) since this thread posted with my BFP pee sticks. Everything is good with the baby, baby he very healthy.

    I'm 33 weeks now (33wk6d today), due February 17th.

Can I share my bump pics?
My 'under 5 feet' self is HUGE bump. It like due to my 4'11" short height, so my bump protrude out anywhere it can, lol. stick out both in the front and the sides, I carry high but WIDE.

This pic below was taken at the began of my 25 weeks, and I was already HUGE (since week 25), considering I'm a FTM. I just blame it on my 4'11" short height, lol
    And baby it a Boy!

I'm not sure if we allow to post bare bump pics, if it not allow, I will delete the pic.
In BabyCenter it allow to post bare bump.. But since this is HelloBee, so I not sure if it okay here.

    ----------------------------

Baby ultrasound pics is okay right?
I omit out the top, due to it had my first name and last name, birthdate, and OB/GYN place, etc...

This pic above was from the 12 weeks ultrasound (at the time the nub wasn't clear yet). What funny is ALL of the ladies in BabyCenter guessed it a boy. Both the nub, and the "square" forehead of my baby (which means a boy).
But then the ladies in Ingender (the nub forum) guessed it a girl.
Welp, it turn out the ladies in BabyCenter were right.

    ------------------------------

Fast forward to the baby 21 weeks anatomy scan, which very much confirm, he is all boy.

My OB in her practice, right in every appointment room has an ultrasound machine. And my Chinese OB she is the one that does my anatomy scan (and all my ultrasound for me), and discussed the results in there with me herself.
    ..........
And she get a very clear potty shot below:

and my OB she said she 100% SURE he is a Boy!
He is a boy right? There can't be wrong about the baby sex right? (I keep heard about ladies said they were told a certain sex but when born it another sex).
We all buy boy clothes for the baby. My OB very confident in her answer that he absolutely is a boy.

    -----------------------------
And can I share one more, this below also was from the anatomy ultrasound scan at 21 weeks:

He laying flat on his back, that his head, tummy abdomen, and his little arm down by his side.
Since anatomy is level 2 ultrasound, it shows organs, those black stripes is his 'lungs'. And the black hole is his 'stomach'.. I was worried about the holes, but then I learn it was just the baby's organs, and the dark area show he drinking fluid, and he practicing breathing.

Baby he very healthy. I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow. I don't know when he will be born, as no sign of contraction yet, just the normal "practicing contraction" mild Braxton Hicks only.

I prefer to stay in my thread, eventhough it old thread. So I'll post this here.

I'm blessed to have a smooth and uneventful pregnancy so far,and I'm low-risk. I'm 38wk3d (38wk4d tomorrow). I'm not in a hurry, as I want the baby to come when he ready, and as healthy healthy as he can.
I been having Prodromal labor episolds since middle of the night Jan 31st/early morning Feb 1st till now. So it been a week, perhaps he is coming soon (since I'm due Feb 17th).

My OB did check my cervix at 37wk6d evening (so 1 day before 38 weeks), I am 50% affaced and 3 cm dialate. The prodromal labor episolds did dialate me and I lost part of my mucus plug.
I do want to met him, but he not born yet, so all I can is just look at his 2D and 4D ultrasound pics.
As I was looking at a pic of my baby ultrasound taken back at 31wk3d, I have a question, I'll write it below:

This is the only 4D pic I have of him, taken at 31wk3d. The rest are just 2D.

My OB she offers and recommend a third trimester (around 31/32 weeks) growth and fetal well-being scan to ALL of her patients (including those who are not high-risk like myself). It optional.
And I took the scan. As I do want to make sure everything is healthy as possible for the baby, and it gives me the peace of mind. Plus I get to see my baby on the ultrasound screen again.

My OB practice, right in every appointment room has an ultrasound machine. It those new ones (that has high-resolution 2D, volumetric 3D, and real-time 4D all in there). She can just change the screen back and forth right there in the same machine.
When I saw her for the growth and fetal well-being scan (back at 31wk3d), I did ask her if she can switch the screen to 4D and give me a pic. And she did. It free, so I'm not complaining. It wasn't like I have to go and pay a 3D/4D place to get the pic (so no complaints, eventhough I didn't get to see my baby mouth. Just his nose and his eyes closed).

Everytime I look, I keep wondering what is that bar on the left in my pic. (That bar that I squared in purple). It is like a light tone bar of some kind? As you can see the bar at the top it really light tone and it gets darker as the tone come further down the bar.. It is those bar for lighter/darker contrast kindda thing, light tone bar? Where it can be use to change to whatever tone whichever clearer for the tech/OB to see the image on while doing the ultrasound?

If you reading this, and if you don't mind, can you share a pic of your 3D/4D ultrasound? Did you also have that bar on yours? Thank you.
