So I am completely baffled by a current work situation and was wondering if any of you ladies had advice/insight...

I have worked on and off for our local YMCA for 18 years. I worked in a corporate full time role for a year and a half until last summer, when I decided the commute would be too long. This summer I reached out to my old supervisor to see if they needed any help during the summer while I was out of school. It just so happened that my supervisor was leaving, and they really did need someone to step in to manage some of our grant programs (my former job) since it is a pretty specialized position.

I decided in June that I really would like to stay with the Y, and mentioned this to my current supervisor (my old supervisor's boss) and it was basically crickets. The only information I got from her was that they were reorganizing and didn't know what might be happening, or when any jobs might be posted. I assumed that meant my position would be ending at the end of August, which is what we had discussed, unless I heard otherwise. I did mention that I would really like to stay on with the Y if that was an option, but after 2 months I still hadn't heard anything.

Last Thursday I sent her a message letting her know that my work for the summer was basically complete, and asked if there was anything else I could help with in August. I pretty much have one small task left to wrap up, but that is it unless more work is assigned to me. She never responded.

Because of the uncertainty, I decided to accept an unexpected job offer outside of this organization. On Wednesday, after accepting the offer, I sent her a message to let her know what had changed and why, that I completely understood that she didn't know the future of my position and that I decided finding something secure was what was best for my family. I told her that the last day I would be available for additional tasks would be August 15 (more than 2 weeks notice), and that I would be happy to help with transition/training. More crickets. Not a single word about any of this from her. But that afternoon my position was posted on their job listings website.

It is now Friday and I have still not heard a word from her. I sent one additional text letting her know that I hoped that there were no hard feelings about my decision and that I would love the opportunity to talk with her further, but no response to that either. At this point I feel like the number of times I have tried to communicate is excessive, but I am not sure what else to do. I would like to at least have direct confirmation from her that she received my notice. I have a really long history with this company, and I really do not want to leave on bad terms.

Sorry for the novel....but does anyone have any insight about this? Should I do anything else, or just wrap up my last task and turn in my computer? I am working from home on an as needed basis, so I am not in the office.
