My Daughter turns two next Month and i am thinking of taking her to see an animated movie in a few weeks. Is that too young?

I think 2 is too young. The movie might be too long, too loud, it could be too dark etc etc.

Our theater has "family showings" where they keep lights dim but brighter than normal, not as loud and no previews. Maybe you can call around and see if yours offers something similar?

@luckypenny: thanks, I am not taking her into a regular showing, it is a special advanced screening for employees at DH's job, other employees are inviting their partners and kids too

I bought J to the Lego Movie (he's 2) and I really doubted he would sit through it. The ticket taker even warned me that it was 2 hours and I could get my money back if I had to leave.
He was GREAT! And he's still talking about it to this day.
It was a day show, filled with little (loud) kids. We had a lot of fun! -
@rachiecakes: that sounds promising..I plan to take head phones for her so it won't be too loud. If she does get upset we will just leave, no big deal

We took her to see Frozen at 2 years 9 months old!

My kids weren't totally ready at 2 yo, but at 2.5 yo, they did great!

LO saw his first animated children's movie in the theater a few months before he turned 3. He really enjoyed the whole thing, except for the (way too long) sequence of opening previews. At one point he stood up in his seat, looked back at the projection booth and said "Movie! We want the movie!"
