I have morning sickness right now but smoothies are going down OK. Plus we have a great Blendtec and I want it to get some good use! Looking for some yummy combos before I go food shopping today. What's your favorite?

I love to do a variation of this recipe:

I use almond milk, maple syrup instead of agave, and skip the chia seeds. I also add a little cinnamon -- very tasty and filling!

Probably not too healthy (I hate yogurt!) but I do a little fresh grapefruit juice, frozen mangos, and frozen berries (blue and rasp).

@wrkbrk: What's not healthy about all fruit?! Sounds great!
@MrsSCB: @Mrs. Pickle: Thanks!

@travellingbee: You're welcome! Also, I forgot to mention that I don't do the whole boiling the oats part. I just put the dry oats in the blender first and blend to a powder and then add the rest of the ingredients and blend. It works just fine and cuts down the time a lot

@MrsSCB: ah good to know because it was sounding lengthy.

Any combo of fruits (blueberries and banana are standbys), Greek yogurt, kefir, juice, avocado, milk, creamy peanut butter, spinach or kale, flax seed, chia seeds. These are always in rotation though not always together.

I'm not sure if you can have protein powder when pregnant (I didn't, but mostly because smoothies didn't appeal to me at all!) but my favourite is:
-1 cup milk (whatever kind you prefer)
-1 scoop protein powder
-1 hand full of spinach
-1/2 frozen banana
-mint leaves
-1/4 tsp mint extract
Sometimes I'll toss in a couple of chocolate chips (not many, like a tsp!). It's delicious and tastes like mint chip icecream

@travellingbee: it is so good! And I guess if you want protein but not protein powder, you could swap out for greek yogurt. Won't be as much, but a good alternative!

I do a protein shake each morning - it's all I have time for! I think the big concern is the ingredients (there's some weird stuff in a lot of protein shakes). I started off using organic hemp protein as a base but have shifted to Tera's Organic Whey in the past couple of months (keeps me full much longer and tastes so much better). I use the bourbon vanilla variety as a base (http://www.teraswhey.com/organic-whey/12oz-organic-madagascar-bourbon-vanilla-whey-protein.html) and combine with fresh strawberries, non-dairy milk, and a handful of ice. That's my favorite. But, most mornings I just drink it plain because I'm always running late! It's super tasty and very low in sugar. Love the dark chocolate variety, too.

I have been mixing it up a little more lately but my go-to is:
1 banana
3 carrots
tons of spinach or kale
frozen fruit
water, fill to 7-8 cups on blender
If the fruit has seemed a little bland I may add some honey as well. This makes about 4 medium mason jars (16 oz?) so I make it most mornings and the whole family gets one.
Another delicious combo:
1 mango
1 banana
1 avocado
water
Yum!

Not the healthiest but it's simple and I always have the ingredients on hand:
Frozen berries
1/2 banana
Apple or orange juice
Plain Greek yogurt
