If you have an IKEA expedit or kallax (new version of the expedit) what baskets or bins do you use it in? We just got a big 4x4 one for C's play area and in so excited for all the storage. Since its in our living room we want attractive bins that are still functional. What do you use and like?
(Will store everything- books, toys, whatever, in them!)

We got some woven plastic bins from Land of Nod that come in lots of great colors and were reasonably priced. Also got a couple of these bento type fabric bins from Target that are cube shaped but have nifty inner dividers that pop out if you want to use them. I love them! We were also looking for grey and I love the grey color pattern, I can't remember what other colors they came in.

@MenagerieMama: is it the strapping bin at LoN? We are looking at then- fun colors but I was worried about how durable they are.
@lawbee11: do you know if those are the "itso" bin? I can't seem to find them online but they are all over Pinterest.

@lawbee11: oh good. I thought they were discontinued since I couldn't find them online but I'll have to look in the store. It's so much easier to look online after bedtime though.

@lawbee11: well I saw some discussion from a few years ago that it was discontinued so you would have gotten them since then probably. I guess the only way to know is drive the two miles to target.

We went with the ikea drona boxes for ours. Also they have hanging baskets we work to divide our kallax up. I don't remember he name but they are for kitchen dishes.

We have a mix of these from Target:

The fabric ones fill the slot openings perfectly, but are about an inch shallow.
The wood baskets are a couple inches shorter than the opening, but the same depth.

@Foodnerd81: Yes it is! They seem pretty sturdy to me, although my LO is 14 wks so they haven't had to stand up to any kiddo damage yet And I saw those itso boxes all over pinterest too, and couldn't find them IRL anywhere!

The Container Store also has similar bins, but not as many colors. The top pic is Land of Nod, the bottom pic are navy baskets from the Container Store in the Ikea shelving.

We use the ikea Skubb boxes - can't beat $15 for a pack of 3 - comes in white, black, purple, turquoise

We have the 2x4 Kallax and are using a combo of the floral and pink Drona boxes.

@illumina: it's weird but they don't have the floral ones in US IKEA stores. I only saw the floral on the uk version of the website!

@illumina: not yet. We have Togo back to ikea to return a few things and are going to look again. We don't love any of the drona colors for our living room. So for now the toys are just jammed into the cubbies but it's still better than all over the floor.
