I mostly wore DD in a wrap when she was really little, and only sporadically after about 9 months. She is now almost 14 months, and we are going to Hawaii in a few weeks, and DH wants to be able to wear her. He thinks he'd like one where she will be forward facing, but he really has no idea. What kind of carriers do your DHs like?

We both use the Ergo 360 and did while in Hawaii too

He didn't like any! He gets hot really easily so carriers plus baby's weight had him sweating in 5 minutes. I did the baby wearing and preferred the Ergo.

@MrsKoala: Yeah, both DH and DD run hot so they both get sweaty!
DH will probably never wrap but he has carried DD in both the Ergo and Tula.

From what I have heard, forward facing can get tricky as they get older from a size/weight perspective! I think some carriers have different height/weight ratings for FF. At that age, you can do backcarries with them though, which might be a great alternative! We love our kinderpacks.

DH uses the Ergo mostly, I think because it's easier to figure out than the ring sling. We just have classic Ergo, but the 360 sounds awesome.

We have both the Ergo performance ventus (mesh panel) and the Ergo 360. I think DH prefers the ventus because it's more streamlined and I think it's also a great option for hot, humid weather.

He has an Ergo but he says it hurts his back (has had back problems in the past) and it's difficult for him to buckle.
I did get him to try a woven wrap and it didn't seem to hurt his back. I did have to wrap it for him but I think he needs try again for himself.

DH announced just an hour ago that he really prefers the Tula to the Ergo. He's tried my ring slings and wrapping but is too impatient to do it correctly.

My DS likes both the Ergo and Tula. He has his very own Tula now so he never even thinks to get the Ergo.

He has a tula, and wears her for walks and hikes 2 or 3 times a week. A ring sling wasn't comfortable for him and he wasn't willing to try any sort of wrap or mei tai.

He likes our beco Gemini, and did like to have LO facing out sometimes, but at 14 months I wouldn't go out and buy that one- I think it's just a little smaller than the ergo so baby would outgrow it a little sooner- my average height baby felt too tall for it in a back carry around 18 months or so. But he only ever used a SSC, never a wrap.

He likes his Tulas.

He's liked any of our structured carriers--Beco Gemini and Ergo when she was smaller, and our Tula now. (It took him a while to be willing to wear that one--it's very pink!--but now that she's bigger it's his only option.

I think it'd be great for outdoor filled vacations and hikes etc and has a higher weight limit cause it's structured like a back-packing pack

My DH loves the beco Gemini. He Wears facing in or back carry for long hikes!
