We use Pampers baby dry at night and they work so well. We go 13 hrs sometimes without a change. We are in our normal size right now but will probably size up before we size up in normal diapers (honest brand).

@JJ2626: Thank you for the recommendation! We tried huggies overnights and they are a disaster, I guess just not cut right for LO. So I'm desperate for something better!

Target brand overnights. She'll wet through the Target brand regular diapers but we haven't had issues with the overnight ones.

Same as during the day (pampers baby dry, usually). But neither of my kids have been heavy overnight wetters.

For my older son we used the pampers nighttime diaper. He was such a heavy wetter! But for my younger son we just use his regular diapers (pampers baby dry) in his size. He is 19 months old and so far it’s been fine!

DS is out now, but we always used Huggies overnights with a extra liner. He wet a ton, right through everything else.
I heard that the Target overnight we’re good too, we just had luck with Huggies

We use the same diaper as daytime and havent had any issues. With DD we tried pampers baby dry at night but they seemed too strong and if I remember right irritated her skin a bit.

@IRunForFun: we also used target overnights for my water guzzler.
As he got older he held it better at night (I think) and stopped needing anything special but way past baby stage.

We used pamper swaddlers 24/7 for the first few months, then had some leaking problems in general. Switched to Huggies Lil Snugglers 24/7 @ size 2 and never had a problem again; but eventually around 10-12 months he stopped peeing in his sleep.

Huggies Overnites were a disaster for us as well. We had good luck with Pampers Swaddlers Overnight or Pampers Baby Dry diapers in one size up from his current. When he was really wetting heavy we added a Sposie diaper liner as well.

Huggies overnights, one size up, worked for both my boys. One was a heavy wetter the other was not.

It depends on the age of your kid. When my kids were younger and drank a large quantity right before bed, I’d size up and use diaper liners. From @18 months up I could use the same diapers day and night.

We used pampers baby dry for night time and they worked really well for us.

Usually the same size. (That's what I voted.) However, we often sized up a month or two earlier overnight before we sized up during the day.

Until age 2.5 we just used the regular diaper in her normal size. Then she started peeing through every night so we switched to Huggies Overnights one size up. Now that she's day potty trained she only pees a little overnight but we keep using the Overnights out of habit.

1st LO - After 1 she always had a big straw cup of milk before bed so Target overnights
2nd LO - Not into milk, still nurses. Never put her on overnights and her regular Target diaper is wet but never leaked

We used Pampers Swaddlers day and night for the first several months. Once she got mobile, we used Pampers Baby Dry day and night. We never had good luck with Huggies - they always leaked - and I wasn't a fan of how the Target brand ones didn't feel as soft. Around the time she turned 2, we started using overnight pull-ups because she was leaking a lot at night in a diaper.

Thank you guys, this is super helpful! We don't have a target nearby, so I think I'll try the pampers baby dry with a liner - LO (6 months) is such a heavy wetter and gets so upset when we try to change his diaper during the night, but even with changes during the night we've been having multiple leaks.

@JJ2626: I also use Pampers Baby Dry as my all the time diaper, and have no issues using the same size overnight. I feel like they can "go longer" than other supposedly comparable diapers. IMO they definitely hold more than swaddlers, and fit my kids better than Cruisers.
Huggies have never been a good fit for my other girls, who were skinny. I'm starting to have some poop everywhere issues with my 21 month old DD3 though, and though very small for her AGE, she's a more solid build - we may give Huggies a try. It is really all about what fits the individual baby I think.

@periwinklebee: Could you double diaper at night with a larger size on backwards over the smaller one? I guess that's kind of the same idea as a diaper liner - I'm not familiar with those. If you go the double diaper route, you could make the outer ones a cheaper diaper (Luvs, Target, Kirkland, etc.) since they don't touch the baby and are really just a "backup" so don't need to be the best absorbancey.

@PinkElephant: I think we may have the same issue, as LO's weight percentage is (always has been) quite a bit below his height percentage.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@PinkElephant: Thanks, I hadn't thought of doubling with a bigger diaper backwards!

With my oldest we needed to use a larger size with a diaper booster. My little guy was basically night trained from the start so we just used a regular diaper.

We started out with swaddlers. Then we tried Huggies and they were a disaster. I feel like they're short front-to-back?
I used pampers baby dry for a long time, but they're so expensive compared to target/up ad up brand, so I tried those (the overnight kind). They didn't work for us.
I'm back to baby dry for now, but have heard good things about honest co. overnights, so I have a box of those to try too. They tend to run small in the regular diapers, so I bought them a size up.

DD2 was a heavy wetter. We usually used cloth which worked best to sop it all up but when we didn’t Seventh Generatjon regular diapers worked for us. I think they’re a little bulkier than regular brands which are more slim which is great for daytime but not so much for night. I didn’t find much difference between Seventh Generation and the Honest Company overnights (except price ).

We cloth diaper during the day. At night, we tried Bumgenius Elementals with a large FuzziBunz insert, but even with those huge diapers, DD leaked through.
Now we use Pampers Swaddlers in an extra size up (size 4 instead of the size 3). She's usually dry in the morning now. We still use cloth during the day.

We didn't do a nighttime bottle, so my son didn't pee much. We just used a regular and he never leaked (Pampers).

We use pampers babydry at night one size up! So I selected both of those options.
During the day we still use pampers swaddles right now. He’s 5 months. We eventually switch to Huggies Little Movers.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@periwinklebee: I like the babydry over the huggies overnights. And the babydry has always been marketed as “night” since it’s 12 hours protection. BUT I just saw that pampers now also has overnight swaddlers. I might try a small pack when I’m done with the babydry.

We were buying Pamper's Baby Dry Extra Protection on Amazon as part of our subscribe and save. They were amazing for our heavy nighttime wetter.

Oh and if you do still need pads in the diaper, we used sposies for a long time from amazon. But those were when he was a little older (2-ish?) so I'm not sure they’d be small enough for our little babies now.
nectarine / 2047 posts
First we did the same as daytime but a size up, then an overnight diaper (maybe around 1.5) and then an overnight diaper with a sposie (around 2) and then finally we are using goodnights pull ups at 2.75 (potty trained during the day)
apricot / 285 posts
We have tried some combination of all the above options. Have you tried the honest overnights? We have had a lot of luck with them and really like them.
grapefruit / 4466 posts
@SweetiePie: I'd actually ordered the sposies before I saw your post, at the recommendation of an earlier comment. They came today and seem to fit okay in size 3 diapers - we will see how they work overnight!
@MACSUNSHINE: Thank you!
