I'm curious what I'm supposed to do with my pump once I'm done using it for good, just throw it away? That would hurt considering how much I paid for it but I'm not sure if there's even another option. What did you do with yours?

I bought mine at a yard sale and just bought new parts. I'm not sure if it will last through a second child, but if it does, I may try to see if I can donate it somewhere (though highly unlikely).

I'll likely post it on our local mom's buy/sell/trade group at a pretty big discount. I get mine free from insurance so it would be nice to pass it along to someone who may not have that option.

I think some of the manufacturers are starting recycling programs. If you can't or don't feel comfortable selling it you may want to call them and see if they offer one.

I kept mine because I knew we were going to have a second later on. Once we're done having kids, I'll probably try to sell it or donate it.

Good question, I have 2 pumps and am pretty much done pumping now! I think I will keep mine in case I have another baby one day. My Freestyle was invaluable!

I seriously want to burn mine, office-space style. I would like to burn it already, even though I'm pregnant and will be using it soon, lol. I just really hated pumping, and I was an EPer.

@psw27: and didn't they start with baseball bats? I wanna do that, too.

@Anagram: Oh yes, baseball bats... and then kicking. And Michael Bolton won't stop kicking it. hahaha I love that movie!

I'll probably pass along to someone in need. I was passed an old one to have at work and it really helped.

I thought depending on what kind it was they were usually single user only and you weren't really supposed to sell/donate them? So mine is rotting in the basement.

I am done pumping and done having kids, so I'm recycling my pump via the Medela Recycles program @psw27: mentioned.

I like that Medela recycles program not only keeps the batteries out of landfills, but also donates to Ronald McDonald house.

I'm not getting rid of it yet but I have a Medela and they have a take back program, I think someone posted the link above.

I gave it to a friend who's on a military health plan and therefore, her insurance doesn't need to pay for a pump.

I barely used mine, but I sold it. I think I got $75 for it and it was free to me (insurance paid for it)!

I have two sitting in a closet as I try to decide if we are really done and if so what to do with them.
