If anything?
I haven't decided if we will get LO1 a gift or if it'll be "from" LO2. Also not sure what to get!
I had a good idea the other day... But forgot. Go figure.

We splurged on a baby Stella doll with a coming home kit. She loves it! She loves to sit next to me and feed her baby doll a bottle when I'm nursing. Baby doll also sleeps with her every night!
She was 28m and absolutely knew there was a baby sister arriving and living with us now.

We didn't get her anything...but since S was born on Easter she received Easter baskets from her aunt and both grandma's. We won't do gifts from future siblings besides big sister/brother shirts. She is obsessed with hers.

When my second was born, we didn't get my first anything. She was just shy of 2 years old and didn't even notice. When my third was born we got my oldest a "big sister" necklace and she wears it all the time. We got my second a Stella baby doll and he could have cared less.

She'll be 15 months and it'll be right after Christmas so nothing. She won't understand anyways.

I'm the oldest of 4... Every time I went to meet my new sister in the hospital, there would be a cabbage patch doll waiting for me. The nurses would have it all swaddled up and in its own little bassinet. I felt so special taking home my "own baby". I will do the same tradition for Dd when the time comes!

bumping for more replies! she has a good amount of dolls, so I'm thinking that wouldn't be that exciting. maybe a big sister book and bear, or something?
honestly, this is more for me than her..lol.

An ergo baby carrier for her babies that matched the pattern of mine. She loves it. Anything that will help her take care of her babies the way you take care if her sibling might be a hit - my DD also liked taking the bean -shaped cushion from our skip hop play gym and using it as a boot to breastfeed her dolls (and her doggie, haha). I bet it would be easy to make one of these (or have one made).
The big sister book, in my opinion, was worth having before the baby arrived to help her know what to expect.

I wanted to get E something for the transition, too, but not sure how much she will understand at 25 months!

@Charm54: I am planning the same thing for my son! I ordered a special edition cabbage patch kid for this purpose, I can't wait to give it to him.

@MsMini: Fun! I can't wait to do it with DD some day when she becomes a big sister

Nothing. I think she will be happy with with a new baby sister since she's obsessed with babies right now.

I am thinking of getting her a little book bag filled some new, fairly cheap activities she can do. Her birthday is just a few days before LO#2 is coming, though, so I am not sure if I will end up doing anything specifically for the arrival of #2.

Exactly what he was totally into at the time-- a little red ukelele. He loved that it was a "real" guitar and not a plastic toy with buttons that played automatically. He still talks about how LMW gave it to him when she came home from the hospital!

DD1 was 2 1/2 and already had a baby doll she loved taking care of, so we got her a couple quiet toys to with play while I nursed - a box of small mr. potato heads with animal parts and magnetic "paper" dolls.

A vlogger I follow had a chocolate birthday cupcake for her son! It's cheap and something she would definitely enjoy. Might be over pretty quick though heheh
@Charm54: that is too cute!

The Go Go Smart Wheels ambulance. It's small, sings about the hospital and kept him busy so everyone could meet the baby.

When my baby brother was born my dad got me a puppy! My mother was not happy but I thought that was awesome

Nothing.....she was 19 months old and the only thing she wanted was attention from mummy and daddy, a gift would not have made a difference! That being said, if she were O's age, I probably would have gotten her a gift, not sure what though!

@Charm54: That is the cutest idea!!!! If we have a third (doubtful) I will definitely be doing that!

Just purchased the Kidkraft firehouse. He's very into imaginative play now so I think it will be a hit. He is 2.5 and baby will be here within the next month or so! Even though we have Christmas soon after, he understands the concept and I think he will be dazzled by a gift from baby brother.

Xander will be almost 22 months. I got him a couple toy cars, a teddy bear (I got a matching teddy bear for the baby and am going to tell him they are brother bears just like him and the baby), and a little basketball set. So things that he's currently interested in.

L was 19 months. She got a stroller for her baby doll. It was a LIFESAVER to have in the recovery room, because it kept her happy and occupied.
We also gave her a look-and-find book, and a big sister shirt

DS was 2.5 and we got him a leap frog electronic toy (cant remember exactly what it was) He used it right away in the hospital.
DH also stopped at the gift store and let DS pick out a balloon and stuffed animal for his new sister.

She was happy enough with her big sister shirt.
She also liked pulling out her old baby photos so people could ooh and ahh over her too

My parents bought DS1 some kinetic sand and that definitely helped in those first few weeks when I couldn't give him my full attention.
