DS1 is not coughing and it's not a cold but he woke up with a fever. And it's persisting, just cooling down with meds.
We did get a HFM notice last week, so I'm holding my breath and keeping the kids apart as much as I can....
What do you do when your LO has a fever, but no other apparent symptoms?

If it's a normal fever (101-102), keep dosing with Motrin, and if she seems uncomfortable, alternate Tylenol and Motrin to keep it down. Maybe a cool bath.
If it's a high fever like we if this week- like over 104, I call the pediatrician. Our forehead thermometer is a little off but it was reading her at 106 when I freaked out. Even then the answer was to treat the symptoms- so if she's uncomfortable keep dosing with Motrin and trying to cool her down.
That said, lately anytime she gets a fever (or, apparently, breaths) she gets an ear infection. So watch for that too.

I generally wait and see, especially with no other symptoms. If he's active and eating and his normal self, I won't give meds. If he's miserable, not eating, and it's high or prolonged then I will give Advil ASAP. I find it works better than Tylenol for him at least, especially overnight.

Motrin and a wait and see approach. If its persisting after 24+ hours i call the doctor.
