Dashiell (nn Dash)? We are expecting baby boy #3 (!) and are reeeeallly struggling with names! DH thinks it's too "out there". Granted, I don't know anybody IRL with that name but it's not like we made it up! Ha

I love Dashiell Hammet so thats what I think of first; and think that's a good association
I have a baby cousin named Dashiell (Dash for short) and several Dash's at daycare so it's definitely not a "weird" or unknown name in many areas! -
I like the nick name Dash but not the full name. I have not met anyone named Dash. I can only think of Dasher (the Rudolph sing). LOL

Our friend's son is Dash so I didn't think it was out there but not too common either.

I voted like but I'm on the fence. I really like att the names on the Warby Parker site- they are glasses but the names of them seem really modern and cool without being too far out there.

Not into it, it feels like it's trying very hard, like @Truth Bombs: said. Also know I think about 5 or 6 little Dashes, so maybe even though you don't know any yet, it's on the rise.
Also they're all short for Dashiell, and the only famous Dashiell that people think of is Dashiell Hammett, who to my knowledge was a communist with seriously bad personal habits, like alcoholism and wife beating. I love the movie The Maltese Falcon, but to me, it's a loaded name.
On a lighter note, agree that boy names are hard
